Im just wondering if anyone else had something like this. It seems that I wake up and I'll have a spot in my mouth that seem like I bit the inside of my mouth in my sleep or something. Then 2 days later, it heals. Then a couple days later, a spot on the roof of my mouth is a little swollen, couple of days pass, gone. Ever since this mess started (with LD) Ive had this going on. Thanks for any responses

Hi,

I'm from WC. Just thought I'd say "hi" and tell you my weird mouth thing.

I don't have what you are talking about but I do have a strange thing that happens when I don't eat for a while and then finally do.

The roof of my mouth swells up and aches really badly for about 2-3 minutes with each bite of food.

After a while it fades away. It's not very nice when it happens.

This disease and all the coinfections are so odd, I'm getting to the point that if I hear anyone complain about anything, I think to myself "That could be a TBD."

Good Luck,

Corgilla

Hi Dullchime,

Do you think it could be a virus?

My son had a viral infection of the roof of his mouth which was extremely painful for him.

The PCP couldn't diagnose it, but the pediatrician knew exactly what it was.

He had a lowered immune system due to steroids for asthma.

Always see your doctor when in doubt, but you might research about natural anti-virals such as:

Olive Leaf Extract
Grapefruit Seed Extract (such as Defense Plus by Nutrabiotics has extra immunne stimulants---it's the best bang for your buck.)

Lysine amino acid capsules
(take on empty stomach with Vit. C
& B6)

Solaray's Beta Glucans - l/3, l/6; stimulates immune system;(not made with oats)

Make sure your zinc levels are adequate.
It takes a while to build up minerals & they're very poorly absorbed.)

But....,if you overdo the zine, then copper is depleted. Best to take all minerals together, but away from ABX.

Hope you find out what's really going there.
Take Care,
Jan

P.S.: This might be too painful, but try those Hall's Zinc Lozenges & follow package directions.

I never thought it had anything to do with Lyme. My experience doesn't happen all the time and I thought it might be that I started developing some weird food allergy. What seems to happen is sometimes when I'm eating, the roof of my mouth gets sore and itchy and sometimes swells. It makes the meal very unpleasant. But it doesn't happen every time and I could never pin down the foods that trigger it although I thought it was an allergic reaction. LYME related....hmmm. If it was a viral infection in the mouth, I would think I would be in pain all the time, I'll have to take it up with the MD.

I dont know about the virus theory, possible I guess. The back of my mouth has been itching like crazy lately. Always happens when the allergys start acting up. That could be it as well. Ive looked at all the spots in my mouth with a mirror and none of them are anything serious- no discoloration or anything. we'll see I guess. thanks to all for responding and letting me vent. Have a good weekend everyone!

I have that at times. Will wake up with kind of like a sore in my mouth an ulcer or something it last a day or so and it is gone. Doesn't itch doesn't burn just bugs me like crazy. It has just started happening since I began treatment for lyme disease. Never had this before.
Any suggestions,
Stacie
