After my third bottle of Mepron (with Biaxin), I've had a week-long herx, with extreme head pressure, numb fingers, sensitive teeth, ear aches, pinpoint rash, and sweats. UGH. And I thought i was through the worst of it.

Anyone else have bad herxes after the 3rd bottle?

Kris

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're going through this but, yes, yes, yes.

I'm starting my 5th bottle and I can say that at the beginning, Mepron and Zith made me feel much better.

Then, starting in early August, I have had really bad herxes that seem to last forever.

I was the worst I've ever felt physically the first few days of this month. That only lasted about 4 days.

Mentally, I've never been worse than I was around Aug 16. That lasted about 9 days.

I hope this means we're kicking it.

Good Luck to you,

Corgilla

i am glad you posted this. i have had the same thing. i am in to my fourth bottle of mepron with zithro and plaquenil.

In the beginning the first month was just plain terrible. Then i thought for a week of two that i was stepping in the right direction. Then around the 8th week i slipped and was very down about it.

i seem to be coming out of it but slowly and i still feel like i am on the edge of something either getting getter or worse. you know that "left in a lurch" feeling.... its terrible.

hang on and please keep me posted. i would love to compare progress since we seem to be at around the same time in our mepron treatment

I'm on about my nearly 7th week. Apart from feeling fantastic for 3-4 days about a week into it - I have felt pretty much consistently very fatigued and under the weather. I'm also on Biaxin.

I seem to have days or clusters of days when I think I'm herxing due to low-grade fever and goosebump feeling, etc, but they dont' really seem to fit any pattern - so it's hard to tell if it's a herx, or just my same old problems.

Also, an old symptom of chronic sore throats, sores in throat and peeling skin in mouth/cheeks is back again. Have had about 3 episodes in 5-6 weeks of that, once with very very sore glands.

It sounds like others have had a similar herx pattern as mine. During Mepron Bottle #1, week 3, I had a gigantic almost-went-to-the-ER headache. Bottle #2 I felt great, with the biggest improvement in neuro symptoms in a year. Life was great during Bottle #3, then the first week of Bottle #4 I was hit by the sledgehammer.

In the last couple of weeks, I started taking Gingko for enhanced brain circulation, so I suspect I've been hitting bugs that were hiding out in the tiny capillaries of my brain.
