Tindamax was approved by the FDA a few months ago but is not yet readily available in the USA. It's a second-generation relative of Flagyl and reputedly has similar action in less time with fewer side-effects.

(dig the little Tindamax cartoon! )
I'm wondering if any of our nonUS members have tried tinidazole as opposed to Flagyl?

thanks!

Tinidazole has been available for some time as a generic in compounded form from a compunding pharmacy. In fact, my pharmacist tellls me the Tindamax is going to be 5X as expensive as the compounded form.

If you do a search on tinidazole, you'll find lots of people have used it. Some say it is easier on the body than Flagyl. I've never taken Flagyl, so can't compare.

I am thinking of ordering it from Mexico and want to add it to Doxy but I am doing an every other day protocol. I wonder what would be the best way to take Tinidazole with the Doxy.

Would be glad of any ideas.

Thanks

I was on tini and biaxin for about 5 months. It really worked great and I was very optimistic. Then I got sick.I thought it was a herx, but my llmd thought otherwise. Apparently tini can accumulate in the system and cause a toxic overload type thing. I had to back off of it for a time, then went back on, but I never regained the momentum. The doc thinks my lyme is pretty drug resistant unfortunately.

So now I'm on flagyl, just flagyl for the time being. It's doing something to me that's for sure. My brain is itchy, I have these crawling headaches - not particularly painful, but more annoying. Today has been more uncomfortable - I'm just off.....My llmd thinks that if I respond to the flagyl, he will add back the biaxin....
