Is there anyway the moderator can delete all of those "anti-Math" post? Troll or no troll I don't think they are appropriate. I feel sorry for the guy/girl.

I WOULD LEAVE THEM LET AS REMINDER
of how we are behaving nothing so distasteful as seeing what you have done and Iam not aiming at anyone just as a group.

No one is above this when you have lyme its a terrible disease that robs people of coheriant thought.

In other words let those who have not sinned cast the first stone.
My favorite author God

Ha - I've lost weight on the abx, too, so I opened this thread. That and the clearest skin I've had since I was a teenager are the best side-effects of the abx, s'far's I'm concerned.

I'm a long-time moderator at a completely different internet message board, and in my experience, these sorts of uncomfortable blow-ups are bound to happen in ANY online community from time to time.

Each board has its own culture, customs, even language that forms the basis of that community's identity. (Here, things like "herxing" as a verb, "Lyme brain" or "detoxing.")
Often long-timers feel very identified with that culture, and it can feel like something of a threat to have newcomers come in with differing opinions, using different language or philosophies to discuss the issues that might differ from the established norm.

I'd imagine many members experience this board as one of their only forms of social contact due to the debilitating nature of this illness. That makes it all the easier to feel overprotective.

Honestly, the concept of "safety" on public internet forums is something of a false expectation. "Safety" is something we each best provide for ourselves, by refusing to get drawn into conflicts and making sure not to overpersonalize someone else's disagreement on theories, terminology, claims of their own symptoms, etc.

The solution is generally to just let things run their course, know when you are getting too emotionally involved, and trust that every poster, new and old, is an adult capable of making up their own mind about the issues.

My 2 cents from experience,

peanut

"peanut gallery" - LOL! Exactly.

The other sites I'm involved with have nothing to do with Lyme. I think there are a number of active Lyme support groups on the web, though, many via yahoo groups if you run a search.

I've only been here for a week or more so I guess I'm still a newbie......I have learned so much and felt so much from people reading their individual situations........

although I have to admit some of it is very overwhelming at times......today has been the ABSOLUTE worst for me.....emotionally.......

My LLMD is trying to find the right abx for me this round and nothing is working.....with flagyl I was sick.......with biaxin I was sick and hallucinating.......haha

so we're gonna try zithromax later this week....I have to say it has meant so much to me to know others are dealing with and suffering with the same things I am.....

anytime you can advise us or encourage us or inform us about your situation will help us newbies to maybe relax and not panic when things happen to us.....

I don't know anything about the problems that were discussed in here but everyone has been sooooooo good to me and I hope to continue to support this site as much as all of you support me.......

and BTW I love to have fun too.......just cause I'm crying all day today don't mean I won't be happy tomorrow.......

God bless you all and keep the Lyme family together to support each other. AMENNNNN

You get the prize CAVE!

I was just thinking about a lesson plan I did on the planets. If we were on one of them, our weight would be....I am guessing here..5 times what it is on earth.

Gravity is much more intense there.

Not sure where I am going here...it is just that sometimes I feel like I must be on that other planet....something went haywire with the gravity thing

So, I wonder if I came down to earth...if I would lighten up.

I dunno, trying to decide whether it is worse to give trolls too much leeway or run the risk of alienating some poor lymie like mcpucho who was accused of being a troll and left. I read his/her posts and couldn't see troll anywhere.

Seems like being sick under the current circumstances in Lyme disease politics and coping with strangers on an internet forum might be a potentially explosive combination. That said, and even on days when I get disgusted, don't know what I would do without this forum.
