300-600 mg a day. I, personally, have never been able to get over a 100 mg a day.
Im not sure if you take it on an empty stomach or not. Does it say so on the side of the bottle?
Until you know how you react to it, I would NOT take it with mepron and ketex.
Its up to you to take it on your week off.

I can only give you my experience, I don't know what would be best for you. I did 200mg three times a day on an empty stomach. My LLMD said to take it with a spoonful of oil but I couldn't handle that so I just did it on an empty stomach. When I started it I was also on Mepron and Zithromax and it was okay for me to be on all of them at once. But, everyone's different so take it slow and listen to what your body tells you.

Chainsaw, it makes me deathly dizzy, thats why I can only tolerate 100 mg per day. If 100 mg per day can do that, there is NO WAY I am going to do more until that subsides.
For me, I do not feel the great benefits of taking the artemisinin until I am OFF of it. Also, it is metabolized directly by the liver, so it may or may not have anything to do with babesia.
You can have full blown vertigo and still have babesia.

Thanks for the suggestions.I guess the best thing to do is to start with 2 a day and work up.

Hi robi!
Just like with anything else, the doseage will vary by person. I take 4, twice a day, 30 minutes before meals. An interesting thing that I was told by the doctor that ran the Samento study was that you really only need to take it starting three days before a full moon and continue until three days after.
It has something to do with the hatching of the parasites and their vulnerability at that time. That's how I've been doing it and my babs symptoms are next to nothing

Lyma Bean, Are you talking about Artemisinin or Samento? If it's Artemisinin, that's an interesting schedule. I may give it a try because being on Artemisinin for a long period kind of makes me nervous.

See my post at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LoveyOnLyme -- Message#15750 -- My husband had a severe allergic reaction to Mepron and Dr. Burrascano put him on Lariam plus Doxycycline plus Artemisinin -- more details in other message. He takes the Artemisinin at meals with other supplements and meds.
