I've come across some websites on candida. This fungal overgrowth can occur when someone goes on antibiotics for long term, which is the standard treatment for Lyme. What struck me was that candida symptoms are very similar to Lyme disease. Was wondering if the treatment for Lyme has created a new conditions and the symptoms now overlap. Has anyone here ever been diagnosed or treated for candida.

Greetings..
Yes.. you are right. Yeast (candida) is a problem for folks with Lyme.
There are many of us here who must treat both to stay on top of it all. It is hard to tell the difference.
If you do a search here using the tiny search box near the TOP of the screen.. you will find buckets full of information on the topic.
I would help look.. but have run out of steam for the night... and have turned into a pumpkin. SORRY!
I am hoping others will help out and share their information with you tomorrow.
If you don't have your questions answered.. start a new post for me later and I will come back and help do a search for you.

Yes, I have Candida. I think many people here do. I had a blood test done (IGG, IGA & IGM) that showed a serious Systemic Candida infection. My Nutritionist told me no carbs, no fruit, no sugar, no dairy, and well no life. I did the all protein & veggie diet for several months and landed in the hospital with "extreme Ketosis", close to renal failure. So, I have slowly added back some carbs and some yogurt.
Its a constant battle. Take lots of fiber & bentonite, drink plenty of pure water, no sugar, and lots of good quality refrigerated acidophilous. There are also planty of herbs that can help.
Will add that, IMO, and I'm not a doctor, the majority of us who are on antibiotics (abx) have to fight candida (yeast).
In you search use the keywords candida or yeast and like tincup said, there are buckets of information here discussed on this subject. To not have candida while taking abx would be a rare thing indeed.

Thanks for the info. I want to take a homeopathic approach to try to balance my system. Your info and insight is always appreciated.
