PLEASE do it NOW!! (I "borrowed" lines from other posts to write this.. I hope the folks don't mind.)

THANK YOU! Just copy and paste the information below to your email, and go go go!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

For over five years, we (many chronically ill patients and their families) have been demonstrating and writing and lobbying and driving and picketing and cheering and chanting about the New York Office of Professional Medical Conduct and how they have been closing down our doctors offices for "treating too many Lyme disease patients". This is as stupid as saying doctors offices should be closed down because they are "treating too many cancer patients".

We started in December 1999 with a demonstration in front of the OPMC OFFICE in NY. We have written, faxed, stuffed envelopes, lobbied, worried, written again, begged, traveled to see them, cried, called, and prayed.

We all worked VERY HARD and our efforts got bills passed that would "Reform the OPMC" - in both the New York House and Senate.

These bills now sit on Governor Pataki's desk... and have been sitting there for months. He has not taken the final step we need him to take. He needs to sign these bills to make them law.

The latest WORD IS- Pataki plans to SCRAP THESE BILLS and start all over again next year with a bill sponsored by the Medical Societies and Insurance Companies.

This would be a nightmare for all of us... and a delay we can't afford to suffer through again. Many more very sick patients would be stranded with no doctors who specialize in this field. We NEED these doctors in order to survive.

If they don't pass this bill we would be forced to stay in the political arena fighting ...when instead we need to focus on our health.. and try to find a cure for these tick borne diseases.

Please call Governor Pataki's office today. If you can call in any favors from family and friends, please ask them to MAKE A 30 SECOND PHONE CALL on your behalf. 518-474-8390

It is SUCH A SMALL THING to do.. yet it is so important to us. Ask your spouse to call. Ask your best friend, your pal, your siblings.. everyone!

Please send this message to everyone in your email address book.

Call from home and if you work, call again from work - on your cell phone, and on behalf of another family member or your spouse giving their name to be counted.

IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT that you call today. 518-474-8390

You might consider stating that we are united across the nation, or that
WHAT HAPPENS IN NEW YORK DOES NOT STAY IN NEW YORK, we are concerned nationwide.. words to that effect.

The Governor still has national political aspirations... and perhaps this will open his eyes.

Please READ the message below and call the Governor's Office today, there is a deadline!

Remind them-

WE WILL NOT GO AWAY (our slogan!)

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````
BETWEEN NOW AND WEDNESDAY, PLEASE CONTACT GOVERNOR PATAKI AND ENLIST EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME.
THE MESSAGE WE NEED TO GET ACROSS IS:
PLEASE SIGN THE OPMC REFORM BILL, A4274b, THIS YEAR. WE DO NOT WANT A PROGRAM BILL NEXT YEAR.
CONTACT INFO FOR GOV. PATAKI:
EMAIL:
Click here to email Governor
Pataki:
Scroll to the middle of the page to send Governor Pataki an email.
CALL Governor Pataki's office:
518-474-8390
This will take a few minutes of your time. Please do it. I need your help and there are many others who also need your help.
Thank you!
I e-mailed the governor with a short message of how these wonderful doctors have saved my life. And how there are many, many people all over the US who depend on these well educated doctors.
DONE !
I sent my email -- the first time I ever wrote a politician.
Watching the debates on TV I thought of a great slogan for us Lyme fighters.
Instead of "Wrong war, Wrong time, Wrong Place" how about
"WRONG TEST, WRONG DIAGNOSIS, WRONG TREATMENT !!!"
