HI
Thanks to the reply to the first quetion, I know my Dr will hopefully explain alot later but in the mean time this test is haunting me. Does the amount of "reactive" results have any bearing on the seriousness of my son's lyme?

On the IGG WB he had 8 reactive bands 18 28 30 39 41 58 66 93 The non reactives were 23 and 45

On the (IGM) wb reactive bands were 39 and 41
Nonreactive band was 23

On the top of the test it says lyme disease screen 4.79 reference range 00.00-.99 L.I.V.

Does this mean any thing to anyone, or should I just relax and wait till the appointment at 3:15

Thanks
Hillary

Not everyone would agree with me, but in my opinion, the large number of bands present could indicate that your son's immune system is very active in trying to fight the Lyme. That would be GOOD NEWS if it is true.

Just be thankful that you have any bands present. People like my husband who have no memory of a tickbite and no history of a rash have a very difficult time getting a diagnosis -- even with very severe symptoms.

Also, he has only one positive band present on one of many Western Blot tests -- all other Western Blots show NO bands. Thankfully we eventually got 3 PCR positive tests plus a Bowen test which many many many doctors (not LLMD's)TOTALLY IGNORE.

GOOD LUCK and be sure to return to this site often with questions or just to learn more about Lyme. I wish I had discovered this site 3 years ago instead of just 3 weeks ago.
