I have been on abx for 4.5 years.
Had ehrlichia ,now babs with my lyme.
I have never stopped my medications.
Somehow I've been experiencing frecuent urinaty tract infections for the last 2 years (opportunistic infections ?) and in the last 12 months a suspicius low back pain (stones?) that I never had before and I can tell are my kidneys.
Today my urologist order two cat scanns for me: pelvic and abdominal.
My creatinines have been always fine and he told me that it seems like my kidneys are working fine.
But now this make me curious about my kidneys ..are they at risk too with the abx??
Mepron and ketek is my treatment..but how much do we know at this point about truly side effects of this 'new' medications....
Thank for your opinions.
I love lymenet

My daughter has kidney disease and takes abx just fine.

You can build up toxins in your body and some abx are KNOWN to cause kidney stones. I avoid those ones at all cost on her and wont use them.

What are those abx?
I took Doxy x 1 year
Biaxin xl and plaquenil 3 years
Mepron 2 years.
Ketek recently instead of biaxin xl.
If it is not stones what else could the abx cause regarding kidney disease?
Thank you for your answer!!!
