I am nearly done with my third bottle of mepron. I felt beter during the first 2 bottles now I am doing worse?

Is the tird bottle wen ot really starts to kick in or am I just experiencing a worsening of the disease?

ANy one else backslide after te third bottle?

This backslide has been going on 3 weeks now......wondering if I need to switch meds or stay the course. Saw LLMD last month and won't see her again until March.

robi,

So sorry you're having a rough time.

I've never been on Mepron. Until others come along, is it possible to contact your LLMD for advice?

Since you have not seen her since your worsening symptoms, if I read your post correctly, she could at least tell you if your symptoms are to be expected at this time.

Yes, Tabby I should call and find out what I should do.

I guess I'd hae to stop mepron before I have had a long enough course to kill the babs. How does one ever really know?

Robi,

Just to let you know - I've been on Mepron (and Biaxin) since July and felt worse through several bottles (don't know how many) until right about the first of this month, when I finally noticed an improvement.

Don't get too discouraged. I can't offer much but my own experience and well wishes. Babesia can be tenacious. I didn't think mepron was doing a thing for me(maybe it didn't) but I did get better and I believe you will too. My path was up and down which does not appear to be uncommon. You will gradually have more good days than bad.

Hi Robi
It's normal for most people to have spells of feeling awful on Mepron...it is most likely herxing.

I didn't feel much improvement until 4 months in and went from bedridden to being able to move about a little. Now I can work part time.

Your LLMD should be able to help you decide when the Babs has been treated effectively based on symptoms and tests but for now, what you are experiencing is normal I'd suspect.

Best Wishes
Emma
