Does anyone know if probiotics are safe to take during pregnancy? I have one with Acidophilus and Psyllium. How much should I be taking after my antibiotics, which I take 3 times a day for a total of 4500mg a day?
Thanks a lot,
Sara

I would DEFINITELY take probiotics during pregnancy! You'll be miserable without them and they won't harm the baby at all (and will probably help).
Acidophilus is ok, but you may want to branch out into combo probiotics with bifidus and other helpful organisms. As for how much to take - as much as you can tolerate/or as much as you need to fend off yeast, whichever comes first.
Psyllium is not a probiotic and whether or not you take that is up to you and what you're using it for.
Just be sure to take your probiotic AWAY from the antibiotic - at least 2 hours away, ok? Don't want to kill off the good guys!

You can absolutely positively take them while pregnant. Infact, you can take them every single day of the year and only be that much better for it. It will help to keep the good bacteria in check and keep the bad bacteria from growing out of control.
Best wishes......
