My brother and niece have seen LLMD and have recently switched to one who accepts insur. a ID who claims to be a LDS. (A.K.)in stamford,Ct. went for 2nd appt. and tells him he does not have Lyme according to blood test she had done 2 weeks ago. He did have band 31 and a couple of others show up on one he had done by the real LLMD. Isnt that one of the specific ones? She has ordered a scan spect though, but will the one who reads it really know? Why do they knock the real LLMDs treatment and put all us through this confusion? Sorry this is not spaced cant figure that out yet!! I just figure he is wasting his time, anybody know this ID? Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Yes, 31 is specific for Bb.

So sorry you are having to go through this. I don't know why they knock the doctors that really care..blows my mind every time!
Thank Goodness for our LLMDS, they do read all the tests differently.

Good luck to you.

There are several ID Drs. in CT who DO treat for Lyme, based on clinical diagnosis and symptoms. Do a search under "Seeking an MD".

I know this to be true because I have seen both LLMDs and IDMDs in CT. I chose the ID route because his office takes insurance - a huge plus in my opinion.

Keep looking until you find the right MD. I can't recommend mine right now because he is not accepting new patients at the moment and I suspect he is going to S. Asia to help with the relief efforts.

In regard to the spect scan: I have no personal experience with this bit have been told if you really wnt to have it done accurately you should go to columbia in NY....hey are the ones who know how to lok for effects of Lyme on a spect scan.

Your Dr. should not have a problem with you choosing what facility it is done at.
