Near the end of my first bottle of Mepron I noticed that my vision was changing. Things seem to have a faint yellow tinge. It looks like when it is near dawn or dusk....that kind of orange glow, except that the glow is a yellow/brown.... and it is going on all the time!

Now on my second bottle it is the same, no worse, and I have not heard from my LLMD. Any one here have any experience with this phenomena?

Also taking ketek, ceftin and artemisinin, but don't think these are the cause.

Thanks!

Yes I have seen multiple references to this happening on the Mep. They didnt say whether it was permanent or not, which leads me to guess that it probably is not.

Yeah, I did see that happen. Also, my depth perception went way off. I almost walked into glass several times, almost put a cup of hot coffee down on thin air because I couldn't quite see where a glass table ended, and keep almost slipping off stairs because I can't figure out where the steps end.

But with the artemisinin, the mepron is DEFINITELY working!

Don't worry about the yellow/green vision. It goes away. I call it UrineTown or ShrekVision. My vision was discolored for about three months, then it slowly dissipated.

My theory is that when Babesia infects your red blood cells, it excretes a protein on the surface that makes the cells sticky. These infected cells clog the fine capillaries in your brain and eyes, so you don't get good circulation and fluid flow in and out of these regions. (This is consistent with what you feel when you start Mepron -- huge head and neck pressure.) I think the yellow pigment in Mepron collects in eye fluids, and this discolors your vision, until the inflammation clears.

I've been taking Mepron for six months now, and I no longer have the vision discoloration. But it's very disconcerting when it first happens.

It isn't easy being green,
KrisKraft
