I got an STD on my honeymoon in 1999(!). I got PID. And once you've had it once, you can get recurrent infections. I may have scarring, or a change in "architecture." Now I get it from the common vaginal infection, BV. I get about one bout a year, and if you've ever had PID, you know that one bout is more than enough!

I hope that this won't continue for the rest of my life. I swear; I was so depressed today. I was severely abused in a crime ring for the first six years of my life. My father and some relatives were involved. I am still recovering from some of the effects, and I am 37. I've had the tick diseases for almost 20 years now. I've struggled with money all my life. And I had a sex addiction as a result of my abuse. I never got an STD, fortunately. And after that, I finally married the man of my dreams after much recovery, and I got an STD which may haunt me the rest of my life! (Even if I'd had the foresight to ask him to get tested, they don't regularly test for this infection.)

Any other ladies care to share if they've suffered with PID? It's horrible.

I'm hoping to get an appointment with Dr. S in Maryland in the coming months. I believe in his protocol, and ABX have failed me.

I've never had PID. But I have Lyme. And Lyme is enough to deal with.

So sorry you have had such a traumatic history! And that you are having to deal with issues in addition to Lyme.

Just know that we're thinking of you and hope for better times coming your way.

I just started doxy and rafampicin 11 days ago and I thought I was getting hit with yeast but now I am thinking BV.( It's not as insanely itchy more kinda sore)

Anyways I have had PID for I don't know how long. They always tell me they can't exactly find which bacteria is causing it!lol

I was also abused as a child(by many) so I understand what you go through..it can be hard.

I am married now with 3 beautiful children and I have never been more worrried for what they might have to face growing up..Fortunately, they will not go through some of my hell.

My oldest son (10yrs) has tested pos for Bartonella, so now I get to face that. I only pray the other two escape this..

I actually got Rhapsody from my favorite book( she was the lead character)a fantasy novel.

Most websites already have Rhapsody taken as a nickname so now I automatically use sweet rhapsody.

Anyways, music and dancing are my passion, not my profession either. I am kinda dependant on music...I don't think I could live without it.

You mentioned my being a fighter like you! I want to mention something. While I'm not a big Christina Aguliera fan, she has this awesome song called, "Fighter." It's my anthem now!

I'll check her out, I could use a new anthem right about now...to replace my holiday anthem Queen's "Under Pressure". Cool song, appropriate even! But need something more positive and uplifting to start the new year...

I am glad to report though, that knock on wood, I have only had one bout of PID in the 18 months that I have been on abx.

Since you have had it so many times, ( I'm only thinking out loud here...) is there a chance that your husband has something that he is giving back to you and flaring you?

Then again, it could be the lyme!

I appreciate your brainstorming! I know it can be passed incessantly, but I know that isn't the case here. My husband was treated the first time (and he says the second time, too). We usually use "protection" (when we actually have a use for it, which isn't often anymore!) The last two times, for sure, weren't sexually related whatsoever. It seems that one or more common infections causes it now.

I had a severe asthma attack, and I thought I'd have to call 911. I took my inhaler and some Benadryl. (I'm quite sure it's the Flagyl because I recall having some issue, maybe a rash, with it before, but I thought it was a Herx.) I won't take either drug today. I have to call the urgent care center where the meds were prescribed.

To add further insult to injury, I had some reaction to the allergy meds. Maybe the inhaler contains alcohol. There's not supposed to be a reaction. I began to get flushed and sweaty, and I shook violently and had nausea for hours. I have also had a rapid heartbeat, and that continues. I took the meds about eight hours ago!

I'm losing hope.

I just had a thought. Like I said the Ducks that I have seen about PID, tell me they don't know what bacteria is causing it, so I have a feeling that maybe episodes occur because of whatever infection hides in my body.

Redardless of whether it is Lyme,Bartonella or any others. Maybe it isn't exactly regular PID just the closest thing the duck can pin it too?

Hey, I didn't see your last post, you got there before me. That is terrible, I feel so bad for you. I hope everyting settles down for you.

My asthma meds can make my heart race and make me feel shaky and strange, but usually that goes away in about an hour.

What a crappy time you are having. I guess "One minute at a time" is a litle more appropriate.

I've been in abject despair. I'm not doing anything crazy, though I have been suicidal. I won't act on it!

I had to stop the Flagyl. It was an allergic reaction, and there may be some form of alcohol in the inhaler. I don't know how long it will take for the Flagyl to leave my system. I'm a slow metabolizer. I hope I don't need my inhaler again!

I'm still short of breath, though, and I have the racing (which I think is more from the Flagyl now). It's been nine hours since I took the inhaler and Benadryl. The reaction shouldn't last this long! Yikes.

I had some classic Flagyl/alcohol symptoms.

I will restart the Floxin in two days and see if THAT'S a problem, too.

I called Dr. S's office in Maryland. With all I have to gather, it seems I'll never get an appointment! They seemed rather short today. I know they've been out of the office for two weeks, so they're probably busy. The main contact did not seem very compassionate. That added to my despair.

As I wrote in a poem once, at times like this I have to "hope for hope."

I plan to go to school for nursing. I hope to go next year, probably part time.

I think you have a good plan regarding the abx. Make sure you're drinking lots of water to get everything out fast.

I am looking into becoming a midwife (currently I am a Unit Clerk). But I am at home with the little ones, until the baby is older.

I would like to go to Medical school, but I am 29 and it is soooo expensive. So I will settle on midwifery.

I think nurses tend to know more(especially about the patient ) than the Dr.s do. At least the ones that I have worked with!

Robyn: I considered med school, too. In fact, I was accepted into a premed program, but I dropped out after the first day! The math was more than I could tolerate. And I knew money, health, and time would be issues. I think you're right about the nurses! And midwifery is a noble profession. Good for you!

Lyddie: I'm so sorry your daughter is having these persistent infections. I wish I could help her! I was tested for Klebsiella, but it was negative. I have tested positive for Strep B in the past. I forgot about that. I wish I could afford to take high doses of probiotics. Does she take probiotics? The poor girl.
