Sent my brother to Dr. V an ID on S.I.,NY from a recommendation on here. He waited a month for appt. and all doc could say was "have you had alot of sausage on the BBQ?".Thinks it might be Triconosis? The man can hardly walk for close to a year now and has been to 14 doctors!!! He did take blood to send to Igenex and ordered a bunch of other blood work for my bro to get drawn from Quest. My sister-in-law says one test is for bart (from Quest??) but no order for Babs or Erlich. Told them to come back in a month.Only spent a few mins. with him and took hardly no Hx.

Any feedback on this ID? If you want you can e-mail me privately but I posted here because "Seeking Doctor" doesn't get much attention and I wonder if mt bro. should be patient with this guy who is supposed to be LLMD. Thanks................Dottie

Hi Mrs. Tick,

Sorry things did not go well with this Doc.

TheCrimeOfLyme on Lymenet recommends LLMDs on the east coast. She's never seen Dr. V. on the LLMD list.

You might want to e-mail her & ask about this.

Here's the Link:

My now retired LLMD diagnosed me on the first visit even without the IGENEX results. They weren't back yet.

He immediately put me on Zithromax 600 mg daily & many months later when he felt I could tolerate it, he placed me on Flagyl
(a cyst buster).

In fact, he doesn't even care if I remembered a tick bite or not. He says, forget about ticks. His theory is that LD can also be passed down from generation to generation; or by blood.

Hope others will stop by to help. Infectious disease doctors are the least likely to help Lyme patients. It's a travesty.

Take Care,
Jan
