H Team,
I just started oral Zithro yesterday. My tummy feels sensitive. I am interested in how others experience this the combo.
Blessings,
Marblenose

M:

I was on this combo last Spring. The Zith was not kind to me. I stopped the Zith in July but recently went back on it. My stomack is doing somersaults. I am trying different ways to deal with this. I am to try to get 500 mg in me each day. I am cutting the 5oos in half and taking one 250 in the AM and 250 in the PM.

I called Pfizer to see if it was ok to cut them until I get an order of the 250s in. They said to ask my Dr. As they aren't time released he didn't see a problem other than I may get more med than filler in one half than the other.

In the past I have done the Oral Suspension Zith which is easier to handle but, it has sugar in it.

My MD said to just cut back when I couldn't deal with the stomach problems. He is considering switching me to IV Zith.

What doasage are you taking?

Bc

I had really bad stomach issues with Zith at first. I started using DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice) ten minutes before taking the Zith, and that seemed to calm things down for me. DGL is very good at healing the mucous membranes in the gut.

Hi. I've been on abx for almost a year now. I started out with 8 wks of IV Rocephin and 600 mg. of Zithromax. For the first couple of days, I had stomach pain then it went away. I always made sure I took it with food. I did have diarrhea for awhile put it soon passed (no pun intended).

Now, I'm on 4 Bicillin shots a week, 850 mg. of Zithromax and 750 mg. of Flagyl. Luckily, I am one with a cast iron stomach. I have a bad case of neurological Lyme.

I couldn't tolerate oral Zithro,so had to go IV. I had bad neuro problems, also. Maybe you doctor could add it to your IV protocol. It's worth asking. Good luck.
