So happy to see you back. I am well, as well as can be expected. My eyes are not better, doc never said they would be, but not getting worse, so I have a lot to be thankful for, especially a big thank you to you.
I had a job interview this morning, only a temp one and landed a good paying job until the end of April. In the meantime, I can apply for all permanent posts. Frankly, I am surprised that I did such a good job, considering lyme and eye problems, but as with all us lymies, when faced with ?? (can't think of the word, but am sure you know what I am trying to say), we try our best to meet the tasks with our best efforts. If only people knew how hard we really have to work.
How are you by the way?

I have a bit more stamina, and seem to be making slow progress off IV antibiotics and on orals since Oct.'03.

Hey Corinne..
I have hardly been back more than a few minutes.. and you already have me giggling!
Way to go! Thanks!
So happy to hear about the new job! I will have to admit.. my FIRST though was.. as I sit here whining about the cold weather right now..
What kind of job can anyone do in Canada in the winter time?
My ONLY guess was to shovel snow!
No.. I am not very Canada literate... did ya notice?
I hope YOUR job is easier than that though .. and that whatever you do.. it makes you happy! I DO see a smile in your post.. and that warms my heart.
And shame on me. Here I sit feeling poopy about the 2 inches of snow we got that has me stranded here...
And the 42 feet of new snow that should hit this weekend..
And to you... snow is no big deal!
I don't know how you do it. You are a tuff cookie!
Now.. what's up with the eyes? How can we help? How about letting us know what is going on... and maybe we will have some suggestions?
And thanks for asking. I am doing fine. My computer decided it wanted to go to the shop for a long visit.. but now the little man inside misses me too.. and he and the computer both came back home.
Santa and I had some fun this holiday season... and basically right now I am dreaming of warmer weather and doing some fishing.
WOW! I am a sick-o!
I'd take playing with wiggly worms over snow skiing any day!

Hey there Neil...
Thanks for the warm welcome! Great to see you here on a Thursday night.
Or any night... now that I think of it!
Did I read you right? You have been off IV's since Oct 03? And during that time on orals only? Hmmmmm... I didn't know you had been off IV's that long. It seems like just yesterday you were on them. Anyhow...
WOW! Good for you.. if that is what I am reading.
By the way.. how is your yeast? I have noticed lately that some guys seem to not pay as close attention to this item sometimes.. and it has me concerned.
Yeast infections seem to be a "girl" concern more so than a guy concern.. NORMALLY...
But.. I want to be sure guys do pay attention to it... and I mention it just in case.
Don't mean to "bug" you... just concerned.
Soooooooo nice to hear from you! Thanks for writing! It makes me smile!

Hi there Tincup!
Glad to see that you're back. Was beginning to wonder about you, (where's tc?).
My holidays were pretty good this year too for a change. Previous 2 I was too sick.
Happy to see you up and running again. I had to break down and buy a used tower myself a couple of months ago. Can relate to computer problems.
Be chatting with you soon.

Hey! Tinny! Good to see you back!
I'm not doing well but still hanging in there. I'll just say that I'm really glad I splurged on a bigger TV for my room and a DVD/VCR. It certainly makes it a little less boring to be stuck in bed a lot!
I'm still working on some projects, one of which will (hopefully) be to direct "Alice in Wonderland" at the local art center where I teach theater classes. And I'm also working more on the retreats, hoping to have another on in May!

Hey hey little wolf...
I smile to hear from you... and I have been thinking about you. I have some interesting info on Alabama and lone star ticks and bad tests!!!
I am writing up some things and will share them soon.
Do let me know.. if you don't mind. Are your Lyme tests showing positive? Any details will be of interest to me... and to clear things up.. were you tick attacked in Alabama or else where, if you know?
And yes.. it's GREAT to finally have a decent holiday. Too many I spent in the DUCK MOTELS! They were HORRIBLE!!! So it is nice to see that yours was better this year too!
My computer went down.. and the other one had already gone down.. so I had BOTH in the shop.. and one is STILL there. This one may have to go back!
It has been real hard trying to do stuff without the computer.. and having to do things the old fashioned way... by PHONE! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
I will be watching for your smiling face here and again.

They are getting ahead of me. I need to type faster! HA!
Hey Arg.....
I just responded to another post of yours. Good to see you are "on the board".. as Alex says on Jeopardy!
Good to know you have a new TV too! I have a DVD player.. and my little one bought me a WONDERFUL gift for Christmas...
The North and South
I LOVE that movie that was "made for TV". It is HOURS long.. and I try to see a bit of it every few nights. STILL haven't finished even the first part!
Hope you enjoy your movies too. What kind do you like?
Now what the heck is going on... that you are IN BED?
Let me know.. unless the reason has something to do with someone else being in there with you!!!
I have some articles coming out and need someone who will edit them and tear them to pieces like only YOU can! I submitted one.. have the second one nearly done.. and need about three or four more real soon.
I found a lovely lovely lady to edit the first one and she was fantastic.. but she has a problem.
She is too darn polite! I need a nasty old pig to chop them up and spit them back at me. Sooooooooo.. I thought of YOU!
HA! I am laughing too hard to type! HO HO HO!
I did tell my dear friend who is helping me how ruthless YOU were and whatever SHE said would be like silk compared to YOUR approach.. but still she was gentle and kind with me.
But if YOU think you can kick butt... and have some time for a quick review.. I will be happy to be kicked by someone with your big feet!
I also want to take a long look at your new project.. just haven't had the time yet. Hope it isn't too late? Let me know!!! I did have a comment from someone else and they thought it was great!
Anyhow dear friend.. good to see you!!!
I am heading to bed. Too much excitment on my first day back! I don't want to "over do"!

I am sorry. I have given myself a new nickname. It is very well deserved especially with my husband. He doesn't call me that. I call myself that.

Hey, good to see you're still up.
I don't know where I contracted Lyme. My LLMD doesn't know either. I've moved around alot (former military brat).
Have heard about the outbreak of Lonestari down here and I think Rocky Mountain from my doggie's vet.
Believe the old CDC was hanging around Dadeville Alabama last summer around July harvesting ticks.
I tested postive for Lyme on WB IGM, high value for Epstein-Barr IGG and antigen and positive PCR for Mycoplasma. That's what I get for running behind the military's pesticide vehicles as they were fumigating the post. LOL!!!
Negative for co-infections but I wonder....
Me and my dog live in a dumpy trailer on 90 acres of deer(tick)infested property for now.
I don't ever remember being bit in the past but have had to remove ticks from my dog and self in the past few years (ticks weren't attached to me).
Hope this helps out with what you're doing. Research maybe???
My vet informed me that pets were causing a few folks to come down with some TBD's. Last year he said he had 10 cases whereas before it was just a couple.
Hope this helps and am looking forward to that future post you mentioned.

You are always a sweet heart to meeeeeeee!
Hey hey hey hey hey BEVERLY!!!
There you are!!! I just posted on another post looking for you and saying a quick HEY in case I missed you!
I owe you a call too! My phone went out... can you believe that? First the computer.. and then the phone? Then everything quit in the wind storm the other day, electric, heat, etc.... and we finally got it all back!
Good to see you... VERY good!!!
Little wolf...
I am so glad you responded. I have read your post at least three times now.. and have NO clue what it is saying! HA!
SORRY!!!
And it's ME.. not YOU!!!
I am too brain fried at the moment.. and tired as git out.. so I will come back tomorrow and reread it and reply.
Hope you understand!
Unfortunately when the brain says STOP....
It MEANS stop! And it did!
But I am anxious to absorb it all tomorrow...
Till then.. try to get some restful sleep.. and hopefully you will feel better tomorrow.
OH.. you said..
"That's what I get for running behind the military's pesticide vehicles as they were fumigating the post. LOL!!!"
HA!
But.. don't ya know...
You ain't really cool unless you ride your bicycle behind the truck! hehehe
And when I was a kid.. we use to call him the "Boogie Man".
Don't ask me why.. we just did! And we did run behind him too... and later figured we could keep up easier if we rode our bikes!
And I wonder what's wrong with my brain?
HA!
Good night all....
It's good to be back home again.

Oh! That's right, she's not a human being! The incarnation of Lyme Humour, Compassion, and Righteousness, all rolled up into one Tincup. So glad to see you back.
I finally succumbed to getting IVs, which seems to be doing me some good. Plus, it gives me excuses to get out of doing anything I don't want to. But I'm going to have to order up that nice long movie, for when I'm just sitting around doing that slow push.

Hey, Tinny!
I read your reply to me on this thread around 2:00 this morning (I couldn't get to sleep 'til after 4:00) and it really made me crack up. You always manage to do that to me.
It would be nice if my reasons for staying in bed were to be with someone else but, alas, I'm lying solo. I've just been very fatigued lately and unable to do much. This has been going on through the fall and doesn't seem to be getting better. I've been off treatment since mid-October when I had to stop the IV Rocephin because of gallbladder-like attacks but without a gallbladder (leave it to me to figure out how to do that). I'm seeing a new LLMD who is taking his time, figuring out other things going on with me that are making it harder for me to handle treatment. So far he's found that I have reactive hypoglycemia (not that serious but sill something to deal with), an autoimmune thyroid disease called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, some vitamin deficiencies, and possibly neurocardiogenic syncope (I'm waiting to have a tilt table test done to diagnose that).
So, I've been spending a lot of time in bed resting. I make it out to work about 8 hours a week (2 4-hour days) and putter around to run errands every few days but there are quite a few days where I don't make it out of the house...or my PJs! I recently started subscribing to Netflix which is really handy! The only problem is that I find it difficult to make it to the mailbox before the mail gets picked up to mail the DVDs back! I like getting TV shows on DVD because they don't take as much concentration or stamina to watch. I like Mad About You, Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Friends best. Right now I also have an Eddie Izzard DVD out - he's a really really funny British cross-dressing comedian. You really have to see it to understand how hilarious he is...or maybe I just have a weird sense of humor.
Well, I better not take up the rest of the thread with this reply. You have lots of other people to catch up with, too!
Glad to have you back.

Quick note... before I forget.
My email says it is sending stuff out.. but it isn't from what I just learned from a few folks. Sometimes it IS working.. sometimes not?? I recently had to resend things to a few people... but I knew to do this only because they were expecting something and let me know they didn't get it.
Anyhow..
Did you get my email?
Your wild and crazy Iguana scared me... hehehe
And I LOVE my newest Tincup!!! THANKS! I put it up with the other one you gave me... and there is a new collection forming here. I love it!
Do please, let me know if I need to resend the emails.. ok?
Hope you had a great holiday and hope that my message went over well with that special person!! (not Mel, Kbear is the one who said Shelley is stealing him)
Life is awful especially for the little folk in the house, so just say some prayers, ok?
Good to see you! Soooooo good! Has it been nearly TWO years off antibiotics? WOAH!!! I am sooooo excited!
Your protocol has not only been a great success for you.. but for others I know. Many folks here.. especially me.. watch your progress with much interest. I guess you've noticed all the posts where I have referred folks to you.. our "expert".. for help. Your heart is big.. and I am so happy for you!!
You said.. "I went skiing with some fairly hard core skiers today. I was a little disappointed that my stamina hasn't improved more; they had to wait for me."
Not to feel TOO bad.. as I sit here laughing. At least you didn't take a dump down the beginners slope like I did... while WORKING at a ski resort.. and tear up your knee.. having to wear a cast for 6 weeks.. while attending law enforcement training!
Yep.. little miss "expert" crashed big time.. and I fell on NOTHING.
The AIR tripped me!
HA! Soooooo.. let them wait. Better safe than sorry! And it is a sport that takes building up to... so give it time. And enjoy!!
And if you find yourself short on snow.. you can have some of mine!
Hopefully this storm heading at you will make you smile.
Or did a possum lick your toes and spit on your new socks?
What? WHAT? WHAT? Are you ok?
NO.. not mentally.. I already know that answer!
What's going on there in beautiful Virginia?
You said..
"Not this little cookie who sits around all day peering at every part of her body (hidious as it is) wondering what new symptom will charge in for the day!!!"
HA!
Sounds like I am going to have to drag your crabby self up to Afton Mountain... and then roll you down the other side .. the BUMPY side... if you don't straighten up!
Can you post to me on another post and let me get an update? Maybe we can work something out?
If not..
I know a nice cave we can visit. And if I try hard enough.. I THINK I can stuff you through the entrance hole so you can SEE the wonderous sites which are about 40 foot down when you DROP in.
And don't forget to bring that 25 foot rope so you can get back out.
HA!
I am a bad girl... ain't I?
Let me know what's going on sweet thang. I do care! And it was nice to see how much you missed me! NOT!

Hi TC. KAM here. I have been trying to find a doc to make the connection between myself and the others at work.
When I first got this, I was trying to find a doc to help me regain my health. This is still a number one goal.
But, I saw that the others were more interested in getting the income in first and succeeded. They were approved for workmen's comp and now are waiting for medical retirement.
Their dx CFS/fibro. The same dx I received at first and refused to accept.
I also have been off all abx since Dec. sometime of last year. I seem to be doing better off of the treatment although I question whether or not it is a good idea.
I have paper work that is two years behind, I am trying to straighten out before I go back on treatment.
I also need to find a good in home health care person before I go back on treatment.
It seems I am pretty out of it while on the mepron, zithro and art.
It also seems that the other two are doing much better than I am after 3 years and they were not treated with abx.
But, they also are not able to return to work and have a lot of the same symptoms I have only not as intense.
The workmen's comp final hearing is the first week of March.
I haven't given up hope yet. I continue to believe that it is just not a coincidence that several of us came down sick at the same time with the same symptoms and after 3 years have still not regained our health.
I also can't believe that the other two seemed to be OK with this and with their docs who say there is nothing that can be done.
I still need a lot of down time. I still use the power chair to get out and about. And I still can't go out daily and when I do I need to keep it under an hour.
But, it seems I am able to sit upright more throughout the day than I have the past two years since I am off of abx.
It is so nice to be able to do this.
My biggest project right now is to find a doc who is willing to make the connection between myself and the others at work and work with my workmen's comp attorney on it.
I also have unfinished business at work that needs to be resolved after 3 years involving me owing them money or not.
Since I need a clear head for all of this, I have stayed off abx and am taking a couple of excedrin and coffee each day to help.
Plus, I have other issues to resolve requiring a clear head and paper work.
I do a little, rest, do a little more. IT is a very slow process and I need to just focus on the fact that I am slowly making headway instead of how i use to function.
I hope to find a doc who can prescribe a pain med instead of the excedrin as I feel it is hard on me.
Since, the docs don't seem to be listening to me....I am telling you. Just send me your bill. HA!
I also am waiting to hear from Canine Support Team to see if the grant for the two week training in February was approved. I hope. I hope.
I am amazed at how one person can make such a positive difference on this web site.
You set the tone for ...well...can't put it in words right now....but it is good. Very good.
Thank you!

You're so sweet.. horseflies keep hanging round yer face.

WOW.. the IV route! Hope it isn't too freaky for you. What kind of delivery system are you using?
You said.. ``I finally succumbed to getting IVs, which seems to be doing me some good. Plus, it gives me excuses to get out of doing anything I don't want to''
HA!
Hey hey.. we trained you right, eh?

You keep me smiling, thank you... and keep us updated on your progress!!!

Oh Annie..
Sometimes you worry me so.
You said.. "I've been off treatment since mid-October when I had to stop the IV Rocephin because of gallbladder-like attacks but without a gallbladder (leave it to me to figure out how to do that)."
Now now dear... me tinks you need professional help. hehehe
Perhaps if you have pretend surgery.. the attacks will go away?
SORRY! You make me giggle.
I don't know how come you are having those attacks.. but you always have been a bit strange! But we DO love you.
You said..
``So far he's found that I have reactive hypoglycemia... an autoimmune thyroid disease called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, some vitamin deficiencies, and possibly neurocardiogenic syncope.''
May I suggest? Might think about taking a supplement... and for the life of me I can't think of the name right now... but it did me good.. and is used for hypoglocemia. It stabilizes blood sugar.
Ah.. what was it? I took 100 mcg's of it a day.. one little pill.. which was suggested by my doc years ago. Well.. I will post back when I can go down and find it, to get the name.
The other suggestion.. a more permanent one... a Chiropractic Neurologist. Contact me with a name of one before you go to them so I can run it past my doc... IF you want.
Not all are the same... and if you go I want you to have the VERY best. They fixed my problems with blood sugar, thyroid, etc... and I was able to go off all meds a few years back after having to be on them for a long while.
It has to do with the brain shutting down in some areas during and after a long illness. They were able to work with me.. no pain.. no additional meds.. and I was MUCH better within a month.
Your heart thing might be able to be fixed too.. believe it or not... but I won't say for sure. These are all basically neuro problems.. or caused by the brain not producing what it should to keep your system working because you have been ill for a long while.
I am sorry you are lower than a snakes belly.. but hang in there. Sometimes the only way to go is up.
I am a Mad About you fan too.. and I like Friends. I also got a copy of the Dukes of Hazzard to see... coo coo coo. But that show was probably before your time.
You said.. ``he's a really really funny British cross-dressing comedian''
Sorry I missed that one! But if he can make YOU laugh.. I gotta be happy.
Keep me posted on how things are going. I enjoyed visiting your site the other day. I needed a break from my research.. and finally took time to see it. VERY nice. Keep up the good work. You see how many folks liked it.. didn't you? Good job.. good job.
Ok.. break time. I am going to post this and then add more. TOO many folks.. I can't keep up!

Hey hey Lymesux...
I do agree! Lyme sucks!
Now what's up with the little darlings? Can we help?
How are YOU holding up?
I can't even imagine the stress you must be under.
I was able to have a little one visit with me recently... but it was while I was herxing.
Three days later I was still cleaning up peanut butter from the lower cabinets... but we had fun.
I had actually forgotten HOW fun kids are.. until I had to provide several lectures... such as... ``Now dear.. You don't stand at the bottom of the staris and yell that the house is on fire. That's not nice.''
And.. ``Honey.. we don't aim rifles at anyone.. that really isn't funny.''
Or.. when out playing in the snow...
``Sweetie... we don't shove metal poles through the big fiberglass pond. That is where we sluff out soft crabs in the summer and I don't think we can replace that set-up for less than a couple thousand dollars.''
Yep! You are amazing.
I don't know how you do it!
Let us know what we can do to make your life easier...
OK?
