As Gigi mentioned garlic is a wonderful therpeutic tool to kill bacteria, fungi, candidas, viruses, reduce your cholesterol, etc.

BUT I seem to be allergic to garlic. It started back in 1987 and has only gotten worse. When I eat garlic (even small amounts) I get extremely thirsty, lose my appetite, and have difficulty falling and staying asleep afterwards.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hummmm... wondering if it isn't the therapeutic benefits of the garlic causing this. I take a high-quality garlic supplement, and have tried to increase it with consequences you have had. The fact that the garlic itself is killing off bacteria, parasites, etc. has made me wonder if it is not unlike a "herx" reaction. I have read that garlic is one of the best natural antibiotics, so it would stand to reason that maybe this is what is happening.

To still get some benefits of this, you might want to consider starting with a very small amount and slowly increasing it.

I do believe it is helping me. But, if I take too much, I get horrible night sweats (not pleasant for my husband since I am "sweating" garlic - LOL) excessive thrist, things like that.

What about those supplements like Allimax and Garlinase? Have you tried these? When I read up on garlic in general, I got the impression that the essential component in garlic is allicin. Wondering if you would have the same reaction to one of these.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Connie
