Hi Everyone,
I have found a company that will make custom printed magnetic awareness ribbons like the yellow "Support Our Troops" ones that are on cars all over the place. I would like to have some made as a fundraiser for the Lyme Out Retreats that I am organizing.
In order for me to be able to go ahead with this, though, I need to make sure that people would be interested in buying them. I need to be able to pre-sell at least 45 in order to break even, and the proceeds of anything beyond that would go directly to the camp.
They measure 3.5" X 8", are bright green and say "Lyme Disease Awareness" on them. They will cost $8 each plus shipping. Once I have enough pre-orders to go ahead with it, they will take about three weeks to produce.
Here is a sample of what some of these kinds of ribbons look like:
If you'd like to pre-order one or more of these, plese contact me at [email protected] for more information. I will require pre-payment in order to cover the initial costs but will not be required until I am sure there are enough people to go ahead with this.
I think these would be great to heighten awareness and that they would help bring some light to Lyme disease and how many people are affected by it.
Peace and healing, Annie

Wow! I'm amazed at the interest in these just since I posted about them this afternoon!
So far, I have 19 pre-ordered magnets. So, that means 26 more to go before I can go ahead with this!
orrn and h&s, I've counted you in. It would help me out, though, if you could just send me an e-mail so i have that in my e-mail files ([email protected]).
Looking forward to this coming together!

Annie,
I think this is a GREAT idea! Good thinking!
How about adding a website url below the "Lyme Disease Awareness" so people who see it have a place to turn for more info. When we had a bumper sticker on the car, it sure did generate a lot of questions...but have to wonder about those who saw it when we weren't around.

Thanks Cheryl,
Unfortunately, there isn't a site that has a picture of what they look like. I can't get a mock-up until I place the order for them, which I will be doing soon.
When I do place the order, I'll be adding information about it to the Lyme Out Website.
Thanks!
Peace and healing, Annie

Hi Annie,
I'm not sure, but I think you might have misunderstood me. I was referring to putting a website url on the actual ribbon magnet. The ribbon samples for the other causes both have 2 lines.

Hi Pab,
I love the ribbon. The ones I'm having made will be very similar to that, but a brighter green (it's called "neon green" on the company's website) and say "Lyme Disease Awareness". And, as Cheryl suggested, there will most likely be a website listed under that writing.
That's great that you found a place to get them made for you!

Okay, I currently have enough pre-orders to go ahead with ordering these ribbons. I can still take orders, though! I'll be having 125 made and I've pre-sold 47 so far.

If you like "Learn About Lyme" I can order them to be printed that way. What does everyone think?
And what website should I have listed under the writing? Lymenet? LDA? LDF? Any other good ones?
Thanks, Annie

Okay, I like the "Learn About Lyme" better, too, I think. And I think Lymenet would be a great website to list under the writing. Do I need to get permission from someone here at Lymenet to use the website?
So far I have 62 pre-ordered!
Thanks, Annie
