While I anxiously await to see an LLMD in mid-February, I asked my PCP to put me on minocycline...because of my uncharacteristic case of acne (I'm closing in on 40 yrs old).

I asked for this by name, because I am smart and by the grace of God I seemed to recall reading from these boards that mino is used to treat Bb - which I do officially have - even by the CDC's @#$% standards.

My PCP has me on 100 mg twice daily.

While my skin is improving and I'm returning to the hot babe that I truly am (...please know I'm laughing now...) I don't think the mino is doing anything for the Bb... I'm thinking I might as well be taking tic tacs.

Any feedback?

Thanks.

Hey HOT BABE!

hehehe

Mark the calendar.

30 days after starting the minocycline.. let me know how you feel.

This is good practice if nothing else?

Helps the skin.. and is information the LLMD will want to know to develop a "plan" for you.

I'm on 100mg twice daily of mino. Since I"ve been in treatment for a long time, I'm also on 250 mg zithro twice daily, and amantadine. But I believe 100mg twice daily is a good dose. Maybe someone else will come along, but since you hadn't gotten responses about the dose yet, I thought I'd just tell you mine...

Did you have any trouble getting onto the mino at all, like dizziness or headache? I tried two years ago to go on mino and it was too painful, but this time I made it...

Thanks Tin Cup for the "Hey HOT BABE" - do you think I could change my username to that?

Thanks for the encouragement DQ and Lyddie - thanks for the info.

As for having a difficult time with the mino...I haven't noticed anything different. As for the headaches & the dizziness..well @#$% I have those daily anyway - so it would be difficult to accuse the mino of that. But it's good to know that I'm at least at a minimum "starting dose"

And yes, Tin Cup - a calendar is a good idea...and I've actually got plenty calendars around here somewhere.... it might take a month or so to find it though!
