I am going to be trying chitosan for helping with detox.

It says not to take it with any fat soluable vitamins or any medications.

Should I not take this with antibiotics?

Also should I not take it with any other supplements either?

I am having a hard time spacing all my medications and supplements out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm new to this, but my dr has had me on it since I started treatment. I take both vitamins and doxy. I take it 30 min before each meal. I take too many supplements to take it all by itself.

What is chitosan?
Does it affect the liver? My enzymes are elevated somewhat (I assume because of the i.v. rocephin) Is it something I should point out to my i.d. doctor? (about whom I am now having second thoughts, but that's another story).

I have read on here that chitosan will absorb any fat soluable vitamins. On the bottle it says not to take it with medications.

I just wanted to make sure I don't take it with something I shouldn't. I have started clorella and am taking probiotics and threelac(for yeast).

I also take salmon oil, evening primrose, aloe vera and garlic. I just wanted to make sure the chitosan isn't just absorbing these so they are not getting used by my body.

I also take prescription medications. I take levoxyl, atenolol, actos, effexor, fortamet, prilosec and nystatin (also whatever antibiotic I am on at the time). I just don't want to be taking something that is going to affect any of these.

Thanks!
