I have tried coffee enemas to help with detox from abx, but I have never felt like they were doing me any good. In fact, I think that they made me worse off. I even continued them for a month because the Dr insisted that I do them, but I never once felt better, or more energized from them.
Maybe coffee is just not a good thing for me. I use good organic coffee, and distilled water too. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Have you been retaining for approx. 12 minutes with the coffee solution that has boiled for 5 minutes? That's the formula I have been using.
I've done the enemas for several months, 2-3 times a week. The research I did on them before I started indicated they are vital for cancer patients and for people with compromised immune systems.
I don't know for sure if they are helping because I do so many other alternative things as well, but I can't say they are hurting and plan to continue. http://curezone.com/art/read.asp?ID=39&db=5&C0=818

Yes, I do think they make me feel better. Like lhm312 said, they aren't hurting, so I continue them when I have time. I haven't been very dilligent though in following a regular schedule.

Yes 312, I retain it for 15 min, and boil the coffee for at least 5 min. My understanding was that they are suppose to make you feel better, even energized afterwards. Not feeling any of these benifits makes me wonder if they really are doing any good. Maybe they aren't even necessary when other detox methods are used like chlorella and saunas.

Micul, my alternative dr. swears by them, no matter how many other supplements for detox I am on.
I really think we aren't able to isolate what's working and what isn't since we do so much. I agree that I don't especially feel energized after, but at least we are getting a good liver cleansing.

Personally, I think coffee is best served up at the other end. I like to taste it prior to excreting it. I am having a really tough time latelya nd humo0r is essentioal.

I bought the bag, bought the coffee but just haven't gotten brave enough yet...a woman at the lyme support group said to be careful at first that the coffee enemas can make you feel worse before better because it gets all the toxins moving - maybe this is what you are feeling...another gotta feel worse before you feel better scenario...I have to say I am tired of hearing this... If I get brave enough I will report how I feel afterwards...

I think I am fighting doing these because I never did like putting stuff in an "Exit Only" orafice. Besides, I think the coffee gives me more gas. Makes me lymetootoo alot.
I relate it to eating. Food is wonderful when you chew it up and swallow it, but when it tries to come back out the same way that it went in, yuck! No thank you?
The only reason that I am considering doing them again is for preventative therapy so that my liver enzymes don't start going up.

The first time I ever did a coffee enema it was after I had been off of caffeine for quite a while.
It gave me such a wonderful burst of energy afterwards...that I thought I'd do another one. You know that concept: "If one is good, two is better."
NO.
No. no. no. Two coffee enemas back to back makes one jittery & if you have IBS....may God be merciful to you.
I've also tried a lemon juice enema. IBSers - trust me on this: Just Don't.
Haven't had an enema in awhile - I'm busy trying to find my magneisum tolerance level.
I think I've found it - so an enema right now would just be a waste of good coffee.
I think coffee enemas certainly have their place in the world of detoxing...but I like what BugBarb said: "coffee is best served up at the other end"
I'll certainly do it again when I feel it is necessary - it's just that an enema is one of those things that you really really have to force yourself to do, you know?
Great topic by the way - and I'll be thinking of you next time I go for the "experience".
