Well, I had my iv line inserted yesterday - what a trip! I'm a righty and the RN put it in my right arm - then the line would not go in far enough - so she started all over again with the left - THANK GOD this one went right in. I'm doing the Rocephin push. Anyone with feedback or experience with this?

I had my iv line put in yesterday too. It took a while, they couldn't find a vein, so they used dye and ultrasound. Arm was pretty sore, but today is a little better.
I'm tolerating the rocephin. Hope this works.

I get my iv in this week, they are putting in the heplock(spelt that wrong), I am a little nervous. I have a little one so it is safer for me to have it in my chest. They are comin into my house to do it.
Can you guys tell me something about the iv, how does it work with the treatments, and how often do you do treatments?

My son has had his PICC for 7 weeks, and he's tolerated it very well. They'll change the dressing once a week, and you may be able to administer the IV's yourself. It's no biggie.
Keep the area as dry as you can, and don't exert yourself.
