I have been diagnosed with lyme by a llmd and start abx in 8 days. Have brain MRI March 1 so waiting to start abx afterwards.
1. From those who are now experienced taking abx, is there anything you would do over again if you had a week to go before starting? (I've been doing a lot of reading about abx, herx etc, but is there anything else?).
2. Before abx did you find your symptoms kept changing? Mine migrate to different areas of the body and if I don't like the stiff neck, swelling in my ankle, headache, dizziness, cognitive problems, head fog, numbness, or muscle aches I just need to wait a few hours/days they are sure to change.
I also find that I have a couple of really good days at least once a month. No major dominent symptoms, for most of the day. Is this having a couple of good days, normal with pre abx lyme?
3. For the first time this past week I could feel pain in my lungs and beathing is beginning to be more difficult. I am guessing that this may be a cold. Is it also a symptom of lyme?

I would have made sure my children had a 24.7 babysitter. The first four months of abx put *me* into bed.

Yes, and they still do, with or without abx.

My worst symptoms ( vertigo and severe migraines) completely disappeared four months before I got diagnosed with lyme, but I NEVER had a good day. Ever.

Yes, and babesia.

(1) YES, I would treat it over, knowing what I know now
(2) My symptoms have always migrated.
(3) Many people have one or two good days every month. Unfortunately, I never had a break like that.
My Lyme included pain in the sternum and ribs, which created labored breathing, etc.
I'm sorry you have to go through this, but please don't give up. Things won't get better if you don't great this!

Hi brightly,
I agree with all the posters above, lots of good adivse. As for myself, I had lots of migrating symptoms..except for my headaches and TMJ...I was lucky if I got a couple of days here and there without major pain.
My symptoms did change though..they kept getting worse and worse until I finally got treatment in 2001.
The only thing I wish could do over again..is to start treatment much earlier.
I'm glad you have a proper diagnosis, let us know how it goes and hang in there.
