I'm new here, but hope I can find some direction and POM. Was originally diagnosed in 1993 with Late Stage. Only 4 wks. of IV Primaxin because of liver damage. Switched to oral--biaxin--in a variety of dosages and gradually improved enough to return to work part time. Now, as I enter menopause at age 53, symptoms have returned with a vengeance. For quite a while my symptoms--all of them--were attributed to meno. and a WB done in Sept. '04 was categorically negative. A repeat WB--sent to another lab in December came back "Equivocal" IgM, and "positive" for IgG, although the positive bands are all low or medium. MD started me on biaxin again, only this time I had an allergic reaction. Since I am allergic to all the other AB's of choice, he suggested I try a homeopathic treatment--Lyme Nosode. Anyone familiar with this?? I am wary. I am also trying to understand the WB test results.
Would appreciate any help, info., suggestions. I'm very discouraged about this double-whammy as a menopausal female. Any other Lyme/Meno. Mammas out there?

Menopausal Momma here too!! Can't tell if the night sweats are one thing or t'other.
I am still on i.v. rocephin but think I have plateaued...and like you, am allergic to penecillin (which means likely probs with biaxin which is what the doc wants to put me on next). A dilemma, that's for sure. If you do try the homeopathic remedy I'd be interested in knowing how you make out. I've already decided I will probably have to move on to using a Rife machine.
(I'm 55, btw)

Good Morning!Melly I have and still use homeopathic rememdies. The nosode I have used just before my "official" second positive test. Many people have used nosodes with some success. I only used it once so I'm not sure if it helped me I was doing so many other things as well. I did speak to someone that used it 3 times with some other treatments and was doing well????? I hope you feel better soon

Thanks for the reply. I'm not familiar with the Rife, but will mention it to my MD. I started the Lyme Nosode (homeopathic) today. Hoping it helps. And, I hope you, too, have luck with whatever is next treatment for you. Here in NY so many MD's have been/are under investigation because of their attention to Lyme that some are skeptical about moving beyond insurance protocols. It's so discouraging... Thanks again.
