Hi all,

I am exploring the chronic Lyme medical route for myself. I have already read a great deal about lyme and ordered a few books.

I have an appointment set up with a local LLMD so hopefully I will get answers soon. I am aware of the "good" tests and the "good" labs. found out some doctors won't use the Lab or tests of your own chosing.

I have a few questions. My symptoms have gradually worsened over the past three years.

I also fluctuate in symptoms. When I ovulate my energy returns, as does most of my information processing. Also right before that time-of-month I feel a surge of energy. Do other females experience this?

The this winter has been my worst, yet. Some days allow me a three hour window to complete simple house hold tasks. I get scared that my state will keep worsening.

When I get these "better times" I experience a yucky feeling inside. Internal tremors is the best way to descibe it. I am not shaking on the outside but my insides feel all shaky like an elderly person must feel. I also have more difficulty getting a full breath. Mind you these are my better days!

My intolerance for noise has worsened. Watching a court TV show is near impossible or a news show were many people debate. When the people talk over each other it makes my brain shut down and confused. Or when I am talking and my young son starts making irrelavant noises (as young children do)then my brain feels so overwhelmed. Can not think straight. I can not track who is saying what.

Three years ago my noise intolerance was not as bad. I was a teacher and the sound of a tapping pencil would make me lose all train of thought.

So who experiences fluctuating symptoms (good and bad days that seem to severly differ in degress) and horrible intolerance to noises?

I also used to be able to understand speech with strong accents and now it sounds like jeberish.

Please forgive spelling and other errors I feel myself slipping and sliding into a "bad" return of symptoms. I just checked it over and corrected "must" I wrote "mught"...

The word reversals and not be able to spell words is very difficult to deal with. Just recently. I tried to spell "mansion" like this "mantion" then "mancion"... finally I got it right. That is just one example.

Thanks
ToriT

Yes, I get all those symptoms , but I get really sick before my period, oddly- RIGHT before it, I do tend to want to clean theentire house.

I am not aware of any LLMD's in our local area.

Please make sure you are seeing a real LLMD.

I am try, try tryng .. I wrote to Kim as teacup (tincup?) suggested... to get back up info on the doctors I have already found.
Thanks

Also just read about the hormonal complications with lyme... but the article did not get to into that area. Just mentioned it occurs.

The waxing and waning of symptoms seems odd to me is all.

Hi Tori!!

Welcome!!

Sounds like you've been doing some of the reading and study so necessary for dealing with this disease.

You have done a wonderful job of describing the ups and downs of this disease to a T!! The fluctuation of symptoms and migration of symptoms has to be the most confusing element of the disease process....to both the patient and medical profession. I sometimes thought I was losing my mind!!!!

All of what you've described fits my experience so well. It sounds like the typical Lyme symptoms. This went on for years and years with the down times becoming longer, more frequent and worse. Finally I discovered it was Lyme which was strictly by accident. When I read the list of symptoms and began to understand the ups and downs, it all made sense. My world is opening up once again with treatment.

We have to be our own advocates and advocates for each other.

As Crime has said, do make sure you are headed to a "true" LLMD. That could be the most important decision of your life!!!!!!

Hang in there and keep up the good work on self education!!!

Healing thoughts.....lightfoot

Yes to everything! Lyme itself is supposed to have a life cycle that can impact symptoms. Then add all the changes in hormones we go through, and many of us our in a constant flux of symptoms.

I'd recommend keeping a symptom diary. It may help you figure out how to best manage symptoms, or at least plan around them.

You're message reminded me that I used to get that yucky feeling a few years ago. It felt like an overload of stimulus. I remember it happening a couple times at dance clubs, or if too many people are close to me. Not the same as noise intolerance, but definitely a stimulus issue.
