I have taken flagyl orally and through I.V. Didn't notice any mood swings, but the oral flagyl made me nauseous and gave me diarrhea.
I think I am starting to feel a bit better, but since I am not working it is hard to tell. When I go back to work next week, I will have a better idea. Good luck!

Flagyl was difficult for me to handle. It did the opposite to me - it cleared up my diarrhea from suspected C-Diff. I could only stay on it for 7 days and had to be scraped off the floor to get back to a more productive life - it knocked me flat.

You're planning to add flagyl to plaquenil, levaquin, and biaxin xl?
What's the dosing schedule?

Flagyl mood swings they couldnt possibly be worse than the lyme's moods. I never had a problem with that but dont drink any alcohol with that or its generic either.

I took flagyl(metronidazol) for about two years and it seemed to help me a lot...I still take it in conjunction with my Ketek only on weekends...the only side effect I got from it was feelings of lethargy....it seemed to clear up my galloping trots....
It is used to break up the cystic form of the spirochete's and I think a necessary addition to any abx regimen....
I would be more cautious of the levaquin as it gave me tendonitis really bad and lot's of unecessary pain. Good luck as we seem to all react differently to our disease and meds....zman

Wow, zephyrcat, that's a doozie dosing schedule!
levaquin, and biaxin with flagyl packs a punch. I've been on all of them and Mepron but only 2 or 3 at a time and they hit me like a brick wall. LLMD had me take lots of probiotics simultaneously.
Good luck to you on this regimen
