Did anybody experience any shooting pain in their body? I experience it quite often, but I get quite scared when it comes in my chest, in what it feels like the heart region. I did get checked for the heart extensively, and doctors say it's good.

Anybody else out there with this experience?

All of the time.

As far as the chest pains go, you may want to do a search for costochondritis. I know it's been discussed rather extensively here before, seems to be common in lymies.

I even had exploratory heart surgery due to the chest pains coupled with the tachycardia and hypotension, but the ticker looks just fine, they tell me.

Thank you Trillian! By exploratory heart surgery, do you mean catherization or open heart surgery? They did an heart MRI on me and they say mine is good too.

Yes, NewDurham77 - Especially when I am herxing...like last night ;( I can't stand this issue. I have been checked by the cardiologist back in August of 2004 but I still didn't have a diagnosis....I need to go back in and get rechecked. Have you found a good cardiologist that was the least bit lyme literate? I am in your area...If you don't mind email me by clicking on the little letter...I may have already met you - I am in Apex. I have met a few great lymies lately in our area and would be happy to pass along email addresses...support helps with these illnesses.

Very scary is right I have been to the ER two times before the Lyme diagnosis. Could swear I was having a heart attack. Strange I get sharp pains around the heart every now and then but I don't even have a murmur. I have had many tests done and they said the same thing the ticker is fine.

I suppose I am herxing too? I just started taking Flagyl 2 days ago and I am a bit tired and getting these pains (not only left chest area, but sometimes right chest, sometimes leg, arm, etc). As for lyme literate cardiologists, not really. I have seen 3 at Duke (even director of a cardiology clinic) and they did their job, listen, but only looked for the normal "defects". I did see one doc in Clayton, (40 mins from Durham)a doc from Wake Med, who seems to be more understanding of lyme's effects.

newdurham,
sounds like you may be herxing from the flagyl..

I had severe heart and chest and lung problems before dx. It has gotten better with treatment, but it got bad again when in added tinidazole...like flagyl to my treatement.

My LLMD took me off the tinidazole for a while saying that the new clindamycin was creating enough die off for now.

You may want to check in with your LLMD if things get worse. Too much herxing is not good either.

I hope you are feeling better soon.
