Has anyone been seen by Dr. C**** at SUNY Stonybrook? Has anyone had their Lyme disease tests done by SUNY Stonybrook's labs? My Dad has an appointment with her. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's what I thought, but didn't want to say for sure.

You need to find a dr who has been recommended to you by SEVERAL happy, satisfied customers! [patients]

Stonybrook's labs are not very good either. They are too conservative with their interpretations. Igenex and MDL are better choices.

Saw her many years ago as a part of a study - Dr. L of NY refered me as they were doing a study on neuro Lyme in people with supressed immune systems (I had been on prednisone for very bad asthma).

Got additional testing there (positive) although my understanding is their tests have changed in recent years (less sensitive than they used to be).

She gave a very thorough neuro exam and documented quite well (and found a few more deficits than reg doc had found) what was going on. She's not a very warm person, but is very book smart.

I guess seeing her really depends on your purpose. She knows a lot besides Lyme so if he has something else neurological going on, she is likely to identify it. I was already diagnosed so that wasn't an issue for me.

Good luck with your dad.

Thank you to everyone who responded either here or privately. My post quickly got buried over the weekend by dozens way after me, hope I'm not breaching board etiquette but if anyone wants to comment on my question, please do. I don't want my father to see this doctor and I'm trying to give him plenty of reason not to! Thank you again.

Feel free to bump it up to the top as many times as you need to to get your answer.

In fact, sometimes we just reply with the word "UP" to bump one back to the top.
