Hi All,
FYI
I still cannot read much but my brother told me Amy Tan, the author, was interviewed in Parade Magazine and talks about misdiagnosis and dealing with late stage Lyme.
Maybe some celebratey (sp) will get info around.
Blessings,
Marblenose

"Both Tan's father and her older brother had died from malignant brain tumors. Her mother had a brain tumor, too, though hers was benign; she died after having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease."

It is very possible she received Lyme at birth.
Sounds like it.

Both links were so informative; thanks for your time in posting them.

My hubby even circled that area so I wouldn't miss it!

Here is the article about Amy Tan, for those of you who don't get the Parade magazine with the Sunday newspaper.

Q. I heard that Amy Tan, the best-selling author of "The Joy Luck Club," was ill. How is she doing? --J.W., Chevy Chase, Md.

A. Tan, 53, tells us she's "95% functional," but still recovering from Lyme disease, which went undiagnosed for years despite visits to 11 doctors and $50,000 in medical bills.

She had severe neurological problems, including hallucinations and blackouts.

Tan published her first nonfiction work, "The Opposite of Fate, A Book of Musings," in 2003.
She's now writing a novel.

And I ain't reading her books till she is running fast enough to catch me and throw one at me!

Not till she is 100 percent!

Miss Amy has done wonders for the Lyme disease folks.

She kicked off the LDA's Lyme Aid for Kids Fund... and made a SUPER HUGE donation herself. She goes to the conferences.. and puts up with everyone bugging her..

Especially for autographs.

She was kind enough to sign my autograph book.. the one I keep all my special friends in..

My hero's..

The Lyme patients and doctors.

Actually.. I met her.. lovely lady.. and the difference in a years worth of treatment was amazing. She looked MUCH better this last time.

Hope you are doing better Amy Tan. Stop by and visit the Lyme Net Bozo's sometime.

And me too!
