Dr C of MO does allergy testing, but it's different from the regular testing. He says alot of Lyme patients have allergies. I used to take allergy shots.
Taking mangosteen juice has fixed the allergies for me.

Both my allergist and my LLMD said flat out No to allergy shots. Your already compromised immune system couldn't handle it.
Getting yeast under control was the best thing I ever did for allergies. 20 days straigtht of 150mg Diflucan was the best thing I ever did.
My allergist couldn't believe the difference in me after one month ( I was so bad at that point, I was seeing allergist monthly). Now he sees me every 6mos, gives me Zyrtec and says see ya. And of course, I take Oil of Oregano daily.

OMG ........ I don't think allergy shots are a good idea AT ALL !!!!!
I took them before being diagnosed with Lyme and, no lie, they almost 'killed' me, even after the dosage was dropped to nearly nothing.
I would wait until you're 'better' from the Lyme treatments, then you may find that your "allergies" just disappear. All of my allergy symptoms were actually Lyme symptoms.
Be careful. If you do take them, be sure to take them at the Drs. office and stay there for long enough to make sure you won't have a reaction.
Are these 6 sentence paragraphs? (I really am confused about all of that :-) )

I got allergy shots for a couple of years and they made a big difference. I was infected, but didn't know at the time.
When I first saw my allergist, I was allergic to everything they tested for. He told me anywhere that I moved to, I would develop allergies in 6 months.
A couple years after I stopped the shots I was tested for allergies again. All I showed was a slight allergy to cats.

I do sublingual drops which supposedly neutralize the reaction on a daily basis. I had really bad allergies to a lot of things including my own hormones (which caused endometriosis and asthma) and at this point I no longer am allergic to those hormones. So the drops apparently worked. Now I'm doing pollen and food. When the pollen is too high, the drops still trigger me and I get a reaction. So right now I do daily (or every few days) "shots" that are very small and right under the skin. Basically based on my allergy symptoms, I do shots as necessary. I've seen other people's post-allergy shot sites and they were definately having reactions, swollen red and itchy. Whereas my shots are .5cc and don't cause any reaction. And if they do cause a reaction then I dilute the doses until it's below the reaction again. This seems to help a lot. But it's definately not the typical one big allergic shot every month or so other people seem to get. And those type seem bad. Posts: 207 | From san francisco, ca | Registered: Mar 2005

Allergy shots have been a total lifesaver for me!! I swear by them. They are the one aspect of Western med that operates on the same principles as homeopathy...giving small diluted amounts of that to which you are reacting in slowly increasing (but still miniscule) concentrations.
The quality of life improvement for me has been HUGE.
I've been doing them for about 6 years and had lyme, babs and bart the whole time. 4 years of that time I was undiagnosed, 2 years dignosed.
Before allergy shots I suffered severe allergies outdoors and indoors nearly 365 (ok maybe I exaggerate, maybe 360) days a year. I took benadryl every day. The medicine made me drowsy and groucy but I coulnd't function at all without it. All the other allergy meds, prescription too, were not tolerable for various reasons by my body.
