Is it just me or is there something wrong with the "search" function?

I'm new here and only diagnosed 2 weeks so I have lots of reading and learning to do.

Could I be doing something wrong? I'm not real computer savvy - just enough to get by.

Also, I ran 8 deer out of my backyard yesterday. I am so depressed about it.

There is no possibility of our moving. My husband is an avid deer hunter and loves where we live.

We built a new home on 125 acres of land and there are deer all around.

I could easily become paranoid about this and just not leave the house.

I hate it because before I got so sick I loved being outside and doing yard work but right now I don't think I will ever do that again.

Dr. C mentioned a product on biterfighter.com but I don't think he realized that my yard is over 4 acres.

Do any of you do anything to keep deer out of your yards?

No, not you. The search function hasn't been firing on all cylinders for several weeks now. Hope they get it fixed soon.

When they do, you can read up on the four poster device which applies tick killing insecticide to deer and seems to work well. Don't know if this will work if your land is surrounded by non-treated tick habitat, so deer just keep coming in from outside and bringing in their ticks.

Might try googling this.

Hi
I have been contacted by a family member, who is a doc. He suggested that I see Dr Steere. I have tried to do a search, not working.

ISn't Dr S a doc who does not believe in Chronic Lyme?

I know we normally do not use docs names, but Dr Steere's name is known anyway.
Hope this is OK.

Thanks
BJG

Marks - Here is info on the four poster device: just click on this link.

http://www.aldf.com/FourPosterDeerTreatmentBaitStation.htm

(By the way, this organization cannot be trusted with all their info, like with diagnosis and treatment, so I don't recommend much beyond the description of the four poster.)

Note to BJG - put your comment in a new thread. No one is going to see it on this one. And yes, Dr. Steere is not recommended by any knowledgeable lymie. Afraid your relative has given you a bum steere. This is putting it mildly.

We used to have deer and turkeys wondering everywhere. We got a large dog and let him roam loose. No more deer or turkeys. They just don't seem to appreciate large dogs.

We also treat our yard with a bug killer that has diazanon (?sp) in early Spring. But then you have to worry about the chemicals. I keep it out of my flower beds though. We also cleared all brush near the house.

Good luck
