If you took in the past a few months treatment with Flagyl (or Tinidazole) and experienced dramatic improvement once you have discontinued the mentioned drugs, can you tell us how long this improvement lasted for you?

I am asking because I try to figure out what is going on with this cysts opening treatments.

the best method of using flagyl is to 'pulse' it.

use the flagyl for 5-7 days in a week and then switch to an antibiotic that will kill the spirochete form (e.g. ketek) during the next 5-7 day week... continue rotating.

Actually, I try to figure out how this stuff work. Sometime before I have read on this board that people regained a lot clarity of thinking after Flagyl. Just wanted to know how much and for how long this improvement lasted.

I'm not sure if flagyl worked on cysts or not. But it did suppress the symptoms of bartonella. So there was dramatic improvement while on it, and when I stopped, the symptoms that came back were so obviously different from Lyme that I was able to figure them out.

Areneli I know we were talking about flagyl before.

Now Im on day 7 strait of 250mg twice daily.

I notice some neuro herxing (depression, parinoia, anxiety) and then things clear up.

They dont clear up for that long but long enough for me to notice them.

I just hope that I dont develop diarhoea on it.

I took a fairly long (several months) course of flagyl a couple of years ago, before treating coinfections. No help, plus I got a transient neruopathy. And not that transient, either, because it took over 6 months to resolve.

I've just started tinidazole. Will post in 6 months if there is long term improvement this time--I have big hopes, since this time I've completed babs and bart tx and have been on bicillin for the past year.

I'm utterly wiped out. I'm not pulsing anything -- I'm on bicillin every 5 days, plus Ketek. Was also on samento and artemisinin, but had wall-crawling anxiety which eased off when I quit samento.

Lymeherx, sacchromyces bouldardii in particular helped me with the flagyl-induced diahrrhea.

I'm on 400mg Vantin & 750mg Flagyl a day now, at the same time. Head feels alot clearer. My llmd says don't cycle it. I like it alot so far. I have fairly serious nuero lyme.My doc says the flagyl opens the cysts, & the vantin kills the spirochetes.... I've been coughing up alot of flim since starting the flagyl, 14 days ago...
