Just wondering if anyone had a systemic yeast problems that could only be erradicated with Diflucan.

If so how long before any kind of recovery?

Did you continue the abx during or after?

thanks in advance

Years before my lyme diagnosis and treatment, I had a yeast problem. I had been on abx for 2 months to clear sinuses.

I wish I could give a clear amount of time I was on the Diflucan. I think it was maybe 3 months, and that was after probably 9 months of problems.

I took Diflucan once a week and followed a strict diet. I also had to use topical anti-fungals and actually take antibiotics. I got into a really bad cycle that the yeast would die, but be replaced with a bad bacteria. And I was popping probiotics like candy.

We kept on eye on the yeast because of my history when we started abx for Lyme. I started on Nystatin I think, and switched to Diflucan in the summer. I've been on Diflucan ever since. I was on 200mg a day, and went down to 100mg a day because Ketek isn't causing problems.

Nope, Diflucan alone will definitely not clear up Systemic Candida. There are different strains of Candida and Diflucan does not hit them all.

I had severe Systemic Candida. The only things that cleared it up were a drastic change in diet, no abx and tons of water and probiotics. Anti-fungal herbs and a psyllium+bentonite drink helped clear and heal the gut as well.

4 solid months of Diflicun did not do the trick.
