As a newbie I have a lot of questions - and one thing that I have noticed is that my symptoms stiffness and pain in the feet and knees seems to be worse in the morning and subside when I get some movement in my muscles and joints.
I sometimes feel very weak walking from bedroom to bathroom and then it gets better after the shower.
Anybody with similar experience ?. Comments are very welcome.

Hi! I think you will find that many of us have increased stiffness and soreness in the morning.Some mornings I have woken up and my ancles feel like they are fused and yes it works itself out during the day.After a bit of walking you wouldn't even know you had had the stiffness.
Achiness is usually worse also .

lars........i hurt real bad in am....especially my ankles and lower back and neck.....i'm 28 and feel like i'm 78 in the mornings.......i'm off balanced and have to hold on to things til i'm up for a while(a couple cups of coffee) he he.....anyway hope you get to feeling better.............

I don't have mornings at all, make any appt. for the afternoon. Friends know to call me after 11.
My routine is to get up, assess the pain and stiffness, and then decide if I need to take the Ultracet or not. So far, days off it have been few.
I find that once I take my pain meds and lay back down for a while, I am then able to start my day, such that it is. This only works for those of us who are retired, although my retirement was accelerated by the Lyme symptoms and I couldn't work any longer.
I hope this helps, morning problems are quite common.

I had this bad every day where I coudnt' get moving good for a couple of hours. I have had this since 19 years of age. It would go away later and things would loosen up. This was long before I knew I had lyme and kept thinking I would probably end up with RA later in life.
And do you know what made it go away? Elimnating wheat, couldn't beleive it, told everyone about it too. When I changed my diet and got rid of wheat this went away and I was less stiff in general. I was so happy, like WOW, had a few others benefits as well.
Of course, could be lyme, but if you are type o, check out the blood type diet, as this was my case.

Im 26 and have felt similarlly since I was 14.
This sucks I know,, latelly the last 3-4 years have been hell.
I wake up every morning in pain. Untill I start moving and have my drugs,...(coffee)
Probabbly something to do with circulation and endorphins.

Yes, mornings are the worst!! No matter what I try to do differently, I end up having to lie back down after breakfast. (even for just 15-20 mins, better for longer). This started with the onset of the disease for me - I never had to do this before.
The pain is worse in the morning, too. If I lie back down, even if I do not sleep, then I can get my morning started.
I take a pain med with breakfast, and that helps a lot too.
It is sure inconvenient. I do all of my academic work from 1 pm on.
I'm intrigued by the wheat idea.... I wonder if that could suddenly start in one's life, if there had never been a problem before?
