That's what my LLMD recommended. Any opinions and experiences? Will that knock it out?

Thanks - Angie

I was told that four rounds, three weeks on/1 week off, minimum is required due to the Babesia life cycle.

I was treated for Babesia with Zithromax, 250 mg 2x/day and Mepron, 1 teaspoon (with lunch) a day for 6 weeks. My LLMD is Dr G in NJ (ILADS member). My Babesia titer returned to normal but to double check we are again doing a Babesia PCR and titer. Pat in Pa

9 months is what I've heard many E Coast docs are prescribing.

My LLMD wanted me to do 4 mos. He says not to take the one week break in between---that was the old protocol and they are having more success with no break between bottles.

BTW---I have already done two periods of mepron zithro treatment in the past. Both times 9 weeks straight no break.

600 mg zithro + 2 tsp daily mepron.

Now I'm doing 600 mg zithro and 4 tsp daily mepron.

Anyone else on that high a dose of mepron? Anyone else done the mepron wihout breaks between bottles or at the month mark?

Thanks! Angie

NO WAY! If you're cured of babs after 7 days, then thousands of people have been doing something wrong!

I hope you will start looking for a new LLMD, as you will likely need someone with more experience than this one.

I very much doubt that.

I have just finished 8 months of Mepron (taken with Artemesia and Biaxin).

The first 5 months at 10ml a day and the last 3 months at 15ml a day.

I just finished 5 months of mepron with artemisinin, and just added in ketek. On Lymenet's advice, will try to keep going for four more months.
