2. How do you check your scalp? Can you feel a tick?
3.Do showers get the ticks off of skin?
4. ANy other prevention methods?

I spray all my footwear with 0.5% permethrin spray(Duranon is one brand) and I don't go places tick. Showers will probably not dislodge ticks. Feel your scalp carefully, although I don't really know if you can feel the nymph or larvae stage ticks. Pat

Don't know if the rumors are true for:

1. Humans wearing pet collars as accessories, and
2. The old chestnut, Avon's Skin So Soft, a product that some of the smartest New Yorkers are convinced was developed by Army combat troops,

But I'm seriously considering both, just in case they help.

None of those sites set my mind at ease. I went hiking yesterday for the first time in nearly a year because I have been pretty sick. Hiking and fishing are two of my most favorite ways to spend my time, but I know after yesterday, I will never enoy either of those or anything similar the same ever again. I was so scared yesterday it really cut into my enjoyment.

Eucalyptus oil on my clothes and shoes seems to help. It will also keep busy-body neighbors away because you will smell like a medicine chest.
