I have had the shaking on and off. Mostly, it is my head and hands that shake. I think it is a pretty typical neuro symptom. My head shakes when I am tired or after I have a massage.

My MD monitors this pretty closely, as he thinks it is one of my more disturbing symptoms. He also noticed that sometimes my speech is slurred and my handwriting is illegible when I get the shakes.

Good news is that I don't have it all the time. Rocephin helped. Bicillin is really helping. But, it is still a visible symptom. It freaks me out more than it does other people.

Hang in there, I think it will get better with treatment.

hi kare,

i've had seveal kinds of shaking. One was like an eletrical curren inside my body. The other felt like a trembling and I felt like I needed to sit down when this happened.

Something that I have been trying for 3 weeks now is something called Glutathione. My llmd went to the San Fransisco lyme conference and heard some remarkable things about it. Anyway,
I have had some incredible improvements; less shakiness, less pain, stronger, and more mental clarity. Something you might want to look into.

Also, just thinking, how are your magnesium levels. I've heard that when it's low there can be a lot of twitching, etc.

regards
paisley

Hi-
I have been going through the same thing for the past three months, trying lots of stuff to settle things down. Shaking during the day, "anxiety" like I am on speed all day and then tremors at night (mainly lots of restless leg stuff). My LLMD has put me on Ativan temporarily to settle things down during the day and says I can take it at night as well, but I have found it more effective for the daytime stuff. It is potentially addictive and best for short term use, but it has helped me tremendously when nothing else did for a couple of months! Also found during testing for all fo this that I have a high cortisol level and they are further checking hormones to see if they are affected also...something you might look into. I am not sure what they intend to do with me once they get all the results, but at least I'll be informed and maybe find a better solution. Hope you can find the solution for you, too! Take care. Lori
