Has anyone else experienced an onset of bloody noses after starting doxy, zithro, or mepron, and if so...did it stop after stopping the meds. That's exactly what happened to me. What would cause abx to cause that? I am off of abx right now becuase I can't afford them on my own and my insurance won't cover them. Can anyone suggest anything natural to do in the mean time. I am suspected of having both lyme and babesia. thanks everyone

I have a grandson who was treated for five years by a well known pediatric lyme specialist, and experienced many, many nosebleeds!
His doctor said this is not uncommon and although we would see copious amounts of blood...kleenex wouldn't do, had to use a towel...he told us they would eventually cease. And they did.
I hope you can find a way to get your antibiotics! Take a loan, use your plastic...anything to keep from interrupting your treatment!! If you don't, things will get worse for you and you'll end up paying in the end.
Hope you find some way...and maybe someone will have a suggestion for you.
Best of luck. nan

Take an herb called artemisinin for babesia. Get minocycline or doxycycline from a dermatologist.

Did I miss something-Are nosebleeds a Lyme symptom?? My 12 yr old daughter gets nosebleeds and has other Lyme symptoms that worry me. I have had her tested at MDL and all tests were ok-C6. ELISA, Western Blot and Babesia titer. Pat

I think it would be hard to say that nosebleeds are a direct symptom of Lyme disease, althought there are alot of reasons why a person with Lyme disease would have nosebleeds.
The obvious, tramua, sinusitus, allergies, vitamin deficencies, along with antibiotics usage that impacts clotting factors all could cause nosebleeds, then there are the not so obvious, like Lyme disease causing abnormal issues with blood pressure in the body that could force the more vulnerable blood vessels in the nose to break and bleed.
I guess my point is that I think it is common for Lyme patients to suffer nose bleeds, but they are really just a secondary complication, not a clinical symptom that would help in the diagnosing of the disease.
I am not a doctor, so this is only my personal opinion, take it for what it is worth.

My two oldest sons have had difficulty with nose bleeds for a very long time. They seem to come in cycles. I beleive they are somehow related to lyme, just my opinion. Have seen ENT and Dr C about them. The oldest son seems to be having far fewer since beginning treatment, however he is the least symptomatic of all my children.
The second son still has them frequently. Have been given the option of cauterization but do not want to put him through that. There is a new product on the market called QR swabs, found them at my local pharmacy after given samples by the ENT. They stop the bleeds in just a few seconds. Just my experience........

listen, I am 22 so I am not exactly a child anymore but my mom still helps me out in every way with being sick and I don't know what I would do without her. good loving caring moms are awesome.
What I wanted to tell you is that if your son has been offered to have his nose cauterized, it might be a good idea to have it done. I had it done when I was 13 and it really wasn't so bad at all. It stings just a little while its happeneing but not much afterwards and not for very long at all. at the time I was playing soccer and was getting them a lot during the hot months and a dad on the team was an ENT and he offered to do it. it worked well, I really did not get bloody noses again for about 7 years. and come to think of it, they have been coming and going for the last two years which is when all of my symptoms really started to get worse. It might be just a coincidence. anyway, good luck
