Just had very unsatisfactory visit w/primary dr. Finished 21 days of doxy and he never asked if I still was having those bad headaches! Wants to put me on Lipitor for borderline diabetes & high cholesterol. I have appt. with Dr. D in May and want to wait. I think I heard these numbers were up on tests for lymies? Am I right?

Ah, cholesterol-possibly the biggest hoax of the century. When I studied laboratory medicine in the 70's normal was 150-250. Somehow the upper normal is now 200. Now if I sold cholesterol lowering drugs I'd like to have the upper limit at 200 not 250. So many more people to buy my product. Lots of interesting stuff on the web about that. Try a search for cholesterol skeptics. Also I have read about side effects of statins-not good.. Also, in some studies of statins(like Lipitor) although cholesterol went down, cancer went up. Cholesterol is vitally necessary to human function, it's in all cell walls, it's needed to make vit D from sunlight and to make sex hormones, that's why the body produces it. And yes, I have read cholesterol often goes up in Lymies-maybe the body needs more of it for the body to fight those nasty keets. Pat
