Yes...for me it has caused problems. We are not certain yet if the damage can be overcome. For starters, it seems to have damaged my pituitary gland, but can't get anyone to say for sure if it was the Bb that did the damage. The result of the pit. damage is GH, LH, and FSH deficiency, and probably problems with TSH as well.
I have been treating with HCG for just over a year with some response, but my Endo. at Cleveland Clinic isn't happy with the level of the response. He suspects some permanent testicular damage and has me on Clomid this month to see what effect that has. Primaraly trying to see how the pituitary responds, etc.
One thing I do know...it's been harder than hell to find someone willing to treat a single male for infertility. The endos all want me to go to a fertility specialist and the fertility specialists won't talk to me unless I bring my wife along. The sad part is that I had a partner when I was first diagnosed with the fertility problem three years ago, but after 2 years of B.S. from the Drs. she gave up. She's still my best friend and may be back soon, but she was literally at that point of choosing to be childless and single, rather than deal with all the problems that the medical community would like to hand you.

For me, I'm sure that it was due to Lyme that I never got pregnant. Although appearantly, and everything that my gyn checked was okay, it just never worked.
Too late for me now to find out if treatment can cure it.

I feel certain my problems with fertility were caused by my undiagnosed Lyme.
I have two children and got pregnant easily (2nd month of trying) even though I was 33 and 35 at the times. I then got pregnant with our third the first month I tried (at age 37), but I lost the baby in the second trimester.
I had asked my dr. to test me for Lyme before we got pregnant with that baby, because I felt certain I had Lyme...big surprise, he said my test was neg.
My LLMD feels that although we will never know for certain, the Lyme very likely caused this unsually late miscarriage.
I then tried to get pregnant for a year, even using mild fertility treatments, but was unable to. After all that, I discovered I do in fact had Lyme (and had it then).
I feel certain that the Lyme caused these fertility issues, and I know I have seen research on this in some places, but I don't remember where.
(All tests on the baby we lost and my own fertility were normal.)
My LLMD did say he feels that once my treatment is complete that I could very likely successfully get pregnant again (and then take amoxicillin throughout the pregnancy), so I hope that gives you some hope.
I wish you the best.

I had two children prior to lyme with no problem. Since lyme, I have not been able to get pregnant (five years now). We went to a fertility specilist who so far has tested everything to be normal.
I am very nervous to go into it anymore than that - b/c hormones or anything in general, will most likely me sicker...although we want another, I am also nervous regarding my health and being pregnant, childbirth, new born care etc. It's a difficult position, I'm kind of in stuck mode as I'm getting older!!??!.
