Have light white stuff on my tounge.....a litle heavier toward the back. I can brush most of it off.

It doesn't hurt and there is none on my cheeks or gums..... or anywhere else if ya know what I mean.

How do I know if this is thrush.

I didn't pay attention to my tongue befroe ABX so I don't really know.

I take lots of garlic and probiotics....

Do you think its thrush?

Probably is-good you noticed it before it started to hurt-my thrush got so bad my throat was on fire-My LLMD gave me a script for Mycelex troches (lozengers) and told me I can continue to take abx-I suggest you get to a doctor ASAP, let them look, tell them you're taking abx and get a script for Mycelex tomorrow maybe or tonight if you can get to one of those walk-in places. Or you could call your LLMD for a script. Probably is thrush.

I am not a dr!

If you have it in your mouth, guess where else you have it!?

My ex husband was a Cherekee from the Etwah tribe.

Here is he remedy his family used:

Thrush
Geranium.
The Cherokee boiled geranium root together with wild grape, and with the liquid, rinsed the mouths of children affected with thrush.
Persimmon.

The Catawba Tribe stripped the bark from the tree and boiled it in water, using the resulting dark liquid as a mouth rinse.

Robi,

I have had the same thing with my tongue, one day white the next day not. I don'tknow if that is true thrush. I know I have thrush now though because it is different in that in the back of my tongue are tiny white/yellow 'raised islands' - small raised 'clumps' that are stuck to the tongue. I am working on getting rid of them now and will try Dakin's solution, and am also using Nystatin liquid.

Kara's recipe looks interesting, but where on eartgh do you get the ingredients?

Gabrielle told me of another thing which I use sometimes, a mix of 70% ground cinnamon and 30% ground cloves rubbed into tongue and left there until it's all gone - swallowed. Is supposed to be antifungal.

Robi:

Do the morning spit test:

First thing in the morning, wake up and do not drink or put ANYTHING in your mouth: no gum, no tooth brush, no nothing.

Get yoruself the coldest glass of water that you can. Even if you have to refridgerate it the night before. Set it out on the counter, work up alot of spit, and spit it into the glass.

Do not shake or stir

wait 15 minutes, and if you see something growing out of it that looks like roots, you have yeast. That is ONLY a simply home test to check yourself for yeast.

You could simply also, scrape your tongue, put it in the water, and see what happens. Dont scrape your tongue and dip it in the water, you'd look mighty funny.

n order to do that, take note: any foods that contain yeast might leave remnants on your tongue, and give you a false positive glass/water test. Scrub the living crud out of your tongue the night before.

Use peroxide, AND baking soda. Use probiotics if you must. DO NOT eat or drink anything, go to bed, wake up in the am

and scrape yoru tongue with the scraper and get whatever you can off of that ( gross, I know)into the cold glass of water and see what happens. Does it grow stringy stuff?

Give it at least 15 minutes to see if it does grow anything. Sometimes 20.

Other than that, you can find yuorself a good wholistic doctor who will use a huge q-tip that strikingly resembles

a womans pap smear q tip tester

and scrape your tongue and let it grow. I had that done. He also went up my nose and about plucked my brain with it, and yep, he found it up there. That was the closest I will ever get to a lobotomy in my life.

Now, to combat yeast on the tongue- remember something. When you get a rash of any sort on the outside of your body, what does that mean?

SOMETHING is on the inside. If you have yeast on your tongue, ya got it inside. No doubt about that, and more than likely 99.9 percent of it is in your digestive tract.

You cannot combat oral thrush without hitting where the saliva that is worked around in your mouth, and in constant contact with the trush, then swallowed, goes, ie, the digestive tract, intestines, bowels, etc.

You can make the "candidal soup"
4 cups of water
2 chopped onions
4 cloves garlic
salt
sage
thyme
ground cloves
ground black pepper
acidophillus yogurt

The water, garlic and onions should be boiled in a saucepan, then add the rest and drink it. Sounds yummy, huh?

Dont be afraid of Pau D. Arco tea either, you can even add it to the above, if yuo have a hardy stomach.

*anyone* that suffers vaginal or thrush yeast is polluted with yeast. Its your bodies way of saying " I got too much on the inside, thus, hello"

Don't forget your DIGESTIVE ENZYMES. You can battle yeast out the rear end, but yeast screws up your bodies break down ability. If you don't add digestive enzymes, forget it.

You can chew garlic. No one will like you, but since I can only see your posts and not smell your breath, you're fine with me

You can swish acidophillus in your mouth. Personally, if you are trying to get rid of yeast- dont swish acidophillus and swallow it. Dont swish anything and swallow it.

All you're doing is dislodging oral thrush and helping it get straight down into your gut with no questions asked.

Are you using natural toothpaste? Dont be afraid to use baking soda when you brush. It does wonders for making the tongue pink.

Keep after your body. Remember- if its coming out, its in too.

Dont,

I guess you can get the plants from a number of greenhouses online.

But NOT essential oil. You take the plants and crush them. Also, you need to make sure that the plants are organic and not sprayed with pesticides.

Does anyone know the rule with tooth brushes? Is it okay to use a Sonicare or should you use one you can dispose of all the time.

I know this was discussed a while back but guess what...the search button is having problems.

Robi, I thought this was something that might help you this is why I brought it up.

Don't you have an alternative doc and if so, what are they recommending you do?

Hope your feeling better soon!
