fasciculations are fine little quivery twitchings of parts of a muscle...I had them prior to treatment. Little fluttery movements that I could see under my skin. They are frequently caused by some sort of problem of the nerve(s) supplying that muscle. Fasciculations are common in ALS patients and in anyone with spinal involvement of the nerves.
OTOH almost everyone has experienced a benign fasciculation at some point in their lives...ie: eyelid twitching.

I have them in both ankles, started about 5 yrs ago, they do not hurt but they are noticable to other people. I thought for sure it was the beginning of ALS. Note this was about 15 yrs after contracting and being undertreated for the Lyme. Your skin just "flutters."
