right now i have been takin 2000 mg amoxy a day, i am starting iv in a couple weeks but waiting to get better insurance for that. for the past couple days i have never hurt so bad everywhere, places i did not even know could hurt, every muscle, every joint, head, ribs, you name it, it hurts.

so my question is from what i here amoxy doesnt work that good for lyme, is this a possible herx or am i just getting worse all of the sudden?

i have had pains, but nothing like this?

Greetings-
Amox will kill some bacteria and result in herxing. I actually did amoxicillan for 3 months a few years ago when it was thought to be effective. I felt great, for awhile. My symtoms went away but the lyme deep in my tissue were still there. I didn't seem to have neuro lyme, but now know that all lyme is neuro and amox doesn't get it all.

You will be reducing your keet load and may hurt less when you do IV.

I have been on amoxy now for three weeks, three days after taking 4000mg amoxy the same thing
happened to me, the worst pain I have had since
being treated for almost a year and a half. Vicodin would not even touch it, still have pain
but not as bad. Hope your feeling better.

Dont believe everything you read. Dont discount what you do.

Amoxicillin worked GREAT for me. It damn near put me in remission. Everyone's lyme is different: EVERYONE's.

Everyone has a different strain,d ifferent co infections, different symptoms. Everyone will respond to different meds.

Some people have lyme in their tissues, and thus will respond to a tissue penetrating drug such as Biaxin or ZIthromax. Some have it in their blood and it will respond to blood drugs such as amoxy or clindamycin.

It all depends on YOU, not on anyone on here.

Go with it, if it works, Great.

If it doesnt, change it.
