I was watching channel 5 last night and for the first time, I heard the possibility of someone having late stage lyme disease being mentioned. It was the show "House" on fox network. A woman came in with neuro symptoms, low grade fever, hallucinations, sleeping 18 hours a day - it turned out she didn't have lyme, I forgot what she did have, but lyme was mentioned a few times. They were concerned that was what she had. One doc said there was no rash to accompany the symptoms -so they ruled out lyme. That's what the show said, I never had a rash either and I'm on IV for months now. It was an interesting show with many different diseases that people come to the hospital with and was glad this this was acknowledged. Maybe it has before on other shows, but I never caught them.

Could lyme be getting some recognition if tv mentions it without it being a show that's a documentary?

Maybe there's hope.

Sorry - Missed that post. Glad others saw it and hope that maybe other shows will open eyes to acknowledge it.

Unfortunately, this sort of program that stress "THE RASH" continues to spread misinformation to the public and reinforces the duck mentality. If I can find an address of the producers of this program, I'm going to write a letter of complaint. ping

Cigi,

I am not feeling very well these days. I think I am herxing really bad; lots of pain.

I saw this post and wondered if anyone had seen that episode. I was overjoyed to hear the words "Late stage Lyme". I listetened intently and heard the symptoms the lady had and said to myself "Lyme disease". When the lady started having the halucinations, I knew that they might say Lyme. If I could have, I would have jumped up and down and done a cartwheel. It was very exciting to hear that so many people had to have seen the show and think that maybe they might have Lyme, not that I would want them to have it but that they may.

All I know is that I am truly sick and tired of my pain and I want it to go away.

I go see a doctor tomorrow on my disability. Wish me luck.

I am so glad that someone else saw "House" (Awesome show)

Take care.

Maria
