Do you feel OK the day you get your picc line in?

I'm scheduld for a morning picc line insertion, and my brain has to be functioning in the afternoon.

Will that work?

Thanks...Tina

Sorry I can't help with an answer. I could tell you tomorrow because I'm in a similiar boat. I'm getting mine this afternoon and need to drive an hour home right afterwords.

Are you having your first dose of Abx with the picc line? It might make a difference.

Hi Tina,

Everyone is different so I can't say for sure how you'll do with it, but I think generally people are okay after the insertion. You might have some pain in your arm for a few days afterwards, but it doesn't really affect your brain - no general anesthesia or anything for the insertion, just local.

I hope it goes well! I'll be thinking of you!

Steve~ let me know how it goes for you tomorrow, and good luck!

I hope to get some antibiotics going soon after...but that is something I am trying to arrange....in my small town, this is kinda new thing...
