Hi Al,
I am now having a difficult time walking. I just want to sleep all the time and my legs are killing me. I take mag. every day but to no avail I guess.
Any suggestions?
Blessings,
Marblenose

Is this the herx you were expecting? Seem to remember you were starting some tough new antibiotics.

Marblenose -

Do you feel like it's a loss of control over your entire legs - or just knees, or ankles, feet, etc?

Have you mentioned this to your LLMD?
If not, you should very well pick up the phone right now.

I know different docs think differently about how much you should be expected to endure herxes/or not at all. Regardless - this is something you shouldn't take lightly.

Perhaps others can give you some insight - but I really urge you to call your doc & let them know.

Blessings,

I was like this - many years ago. Vit B12 helped me a great deal. The injections are the best, but BEFORE you get yourself any B12 you must ask your LLMD's opinion.

B12 can make you feel good, but it can also mask many of your symptoms.

Since I walk with a walker, your post caught my attention.

My problems started with an inability to lift my right leg. Also I could not maintain my balance.

Now I can lift my leg, but my balance is still non-existent. Also I have started to have spasticity in the right leg which wakes me up at night.

Don't know what it is that's making walking difficult for you. If you are taking abx it could be a herx, as you know.

By the way, I know magnesium is touted by some, but it has not helped me. But then again if you have to take an amount that's off the scale, I didn't try that.

Hi
Have you been tested for co-infections - Babesia, Batonella?

Crushing fatigue could be a Babesia symptom...a knowledgeable LLMD should be able to clinically diagnose in the absence of positive tests based on symptom presentation.

METHYL B12 injections helped my terrible fatigue but it came back and only really improved after Babesia treatment. I still take Mathyl B12 orally.

Hope this helps
Emma

Thanks all,
I started Ketek on 3/31. Could be a herx. I also do b12 injections weekly. Do they helps? I hope so.
Balance is off, arms hands tired. Sleep looks really appealing!
Blessings,
Marblenose

A natural product called "Hyland's Leg Cramps with Quinine Natural Relief Tablets" helped the muscle pain in my legs a lot, especially the excrutiating pain at night. Mobic is helping my joint pain.

I walked with a cane for most of two years, wheelchair part of the time, partly due to leg pain and numbness but mainly due to balance issues. Haven't needed either for a couple months now.

I get acute attacks of the sleepies. I'm just coming out of a major sleep cycle right now- when I'm in a major attack, I can easily sleep 18 hours out of a day. Trouble staying awake more than an hour or two at a time, even with Provigil.

It is SO hard to stay off caffiene...

Sorry to hear about your pain. I also share this symptom. I lost the use of my leg in Sept. I am making a slow come back. I went from being completely bedridden to a wheelchair. I can walk with a cane sometimes.

My sugesstions aren't the most appealing, but they are taking the pain away enough for me to live without the excrutiaitng pain and get out of bed...i'm on morphine, neurontin and hydrocodone for breakthrough pain.

I've also been doing glutathione injections and definately feel like they had made a difference (and this helped with the brain fog also). There are lots of natual pain suggestions. But for severe cases of nerve pain, unfortunately lots of people have had to switch to narcotics.

I live to sleep. I slept 24 hours yesterday - and that still wasn't enough. I feel like I have narcolepsy also and just fall asleep while I'm doing stuff on my computer or reading. I tested negative for babs but I have all the symptoms, so I'm going to have to pursue it further.

Hope you get some kind of relief.
Regards
Paisley
