Although the persistence of Lyme disease is the cause of much controversy, the scientific literature at the following website reveals that Lyme disease is in fact known to persist following antibiotic treatment.

The summaries of peer-reviewed medical literature at the site also cover the following topics: documented symptoms of Lyme disease, seronegative Lyme disease, and photographs and quotations on the cystic form of the bacterium.

The persistence file has once again been updated in July of 2008. This is a high-quality file in which the articles have always been carefully selected in order to carry weight with researchers. The file is in a PDF format that best enables it to be printed and shared with those in the medical field.

I didn't create these excellent summaries, but I am very thankful that LymeED has shared these with me to post on LymeInfo for the past 7+ years. Wow how time flies!

In viewing the page stats, it's amazing how many people are googling information about a disease that is so "easy to diagnose and treat." [Wink]

Hopefully these files help provide all those who are seeking information with an accurate picture of this disease.
