So My insurance company called today and informed me that they are no longer recieving Bicliin. That the manufacturer is not manufactering it. I'm in New York and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. And if not where are you getting it from.......

After my first batch of 10, my drugstore (a west coast chain-(Longs) said they had " lost their supplier." They called the local branch of a large grocery chain pharmacy (Safeway) that had no problem filling it. I just refilled it so there is not yet a problem here that I know of--but the fact that the first pharmacy lost the supplier must be related.

I would just start calling pharmacies, or ask you former pharmacy to do so.

Good luck!

Ann

At a recent lyme conference in SF one doctor mentioned that the supplier will not be shipping for six weeks to a couple of months...so it will be in short supply for a while. I don't recall why they are interrupting the manufacture, just that it's happening.

I did have a bit of difficulty in finding a pharmacy that could fill my Bicillin rx..but not too bad. My Albertson's pharmacy found it for me, then even went one step farther.

The pharmacist was amazed at the cost, and called a Pharmacist at COSTCO who could get it even cheaper (different suppliers?). My pharmacist at Albertson's then said he would "meet the competitor's price" and gave me the price COSTCO gave him.

Don't know if you have any of these stores out your way, but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents if it could help...and to let folks know that pharmacist's can really be our angels in disguise by what they know.

Best of luck,
JavaBeing

Just a add-on: There was a couple of days wait for the meds...so perhaps supply problems have occurred.

Sorry..need to jump back on here:
Forgot to ask while on this topic....but does anyone have a better method (or Insurance carrier) to get this covered by your insurance?

This stuff is abit pricey as I'm sure we are all finding out...and I would greatly appreciate any advice/tips any of you may have to offer.

Now returning you to your regular program...
