I'm sorry to bring this to your attention on a Sat morning-

but I'm a bit shocked!

I have been flaring- and yesterday took a higher dose of ALA-

Is this bacteria die off?

This is the first time in my life I have ever had green POO!!!

And ...I've had no green food lately-

thanks for any thoughts on this unappealing subject matter-

Sarah

Yes- Alpha Lipoic Acid...
I've been google searching and it doesn't seem like I should panic-

Although that was my first reaction!

Perhaps the ALA killed more than it's usual share of bacteria-

Yikes what a shock!-

Cheers- Sarah

i had the once many years ago, un-disease related.

if it persists for more than say 3-5 days see a doc to be sure.

is it bright green or dark green?

if it is bright that means it is close to the rectum and not much of a worry.

if it is dark it can be internal and a cause of concern.

It's bright green!
I have not had any chorophyll- not even a green vegetable...

I hope it bacteria die off and not a sign of gallbladder problems...

If it continues, I will definitely go to the doctor about it-!

Thanks, Sarah

this phenomenon will sometimes be noted hours after an individual consumes large quantities of fruit loops.

Have you been drinking grape juice? That sometimes will cause green BM.

no wish it was something that I had eaten...
I had cheese, yogurt, toast and indian curried chicken ( but I've had dish before without the green effect!)

From what I've read now....

the bile is bright green and if waste moves through the system too quickly it doesn't have the chance to loose the green colour-

I have been really unwell the last few days-

so I'm really hoping that it's die off-

wish it was fruit loops-

I'm a wee bit weird but not crazy yet...

cheers-
Sarah

Sarah, I was having green pooh on and off at one point, went to the gastroenterologist because I was also having pain in the liver area.

He didn't seem a bit concerned about the pooh, and my ultrasound was negative.

It's been a long time since the color was green, I don't think it's a cause for alarm.

Sara,
I remember a few years back having this. Are you having a lot of diarreah as well??
Stay off of anything with lactose for awhile, I don't know about yogart, but you need to get the good bacteria-bad bacteria back in balance, and it is a good idea to see the doc as you don't want to get really down and trip the immune system any further.
Good Luck!

This happened to me years ago, when I was a kid. I seem to remember that I was anemic at the time, and that my mother told me it was caused by the iron pills.

I remember I had eaten zuchinni that night with dinner and wouldn't eat it for years afterwards.

Isn't ALA used as part of a liver detox?

Is this continuing?

I might guess either you have purged bile from the liver..
just with the ALA..

or unkowingly with some combination of that and another supplement you are taking?

Also..
sometimes one can unwittingly do a sort of liver/gall bladder cleanse..

That might happen if you went say 1/2 to whole day eating no fat food, maybe gone a period then without eating.. and then had a fatty meal ..

Just a few shots in the dark.

Mo
